I need to find out what upload and download speeds are expected from my provider, how would I do this?

I know how to find the speeds that I am actually getting that is no problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

There are online bandwidth tests to give you a ballpark idea. Generally they're not going to do anything for you if you're say getting 4mb down on a 5mb connection. But if you're consistently getting 2mb down on a 5mb you have a valid complaint.

Here are a few links:

just realize that when you call into your isp complaining of slow download speeds, they'll roll their eyes if you only come at them with a non company speed test.

remember, that there are many points along the way of that download.

Thanks guys, I was actually able to figure it out.

I already new how to find what I was actually getting but I couldn't find anything listed about what I should be expecting.

Finally got a helpful person at tech support so no problem.

Thanks again.
