Jump on now! He's going to keep putting people to sleep all the way through the tourney with that nasty guillotine!

Cody seems like he may be a tad bit unstable. But his choke is very nice.

Mix6APlix - He looked sloppy. I think anyone with good wrestling will put him sown and GNP away.

That's what all the guys he's choked out thought, too.

Cody is the real deal as far as groundwork goes. Trains at Ski-Jitsu in Spokane with Lyle Beerbohm and Rick Little (last I heard anyway).

In the article I posted above it says...
...McKenzie’s been training with the Fancy Pants Fight Team at the School of Boxing and MMA in Spokane Valley. He literally lives at the gym. He not only works out and spars at SOBMMA, he also teaches classes in exchange for residence in one of the former bingo parlor-turned-gym’s back rooms.

Viv - did they close SikJitsu or is what?

Cody was over on this side of the mountains for an event a few years ago when he was still with BJJ Spokane.

Do the coaches know the roster of fighters before they arrive?

GSP's knowledge of McKenzie surprised me. Granted I knew who McKenzie was pre tuf, but that is part of my job. I would imagine GSP doesn't know every up and comer around the country unless he has trained with them.

Based on that and GSP's comment about Lentz, it seems as though he did some research before the event. (Lentz looked amazing! GSP just seemed to not be impressed with him before watching him fight so I assume he did research on him or at the very least heard he wasn't good or something)

Many years ago my son went to a Rigan Machado seminar in Spokane and after I was picking him up and Cody was helping my son with some muay thai things and seemed like a great guy. He was an amateur back then. I will cheer for him.

Maybe he googles them before they fight on his phone?

^ Or maybe GSP lurks the UG! Cody's name and record were brought up before the show aired.

Cody is a naturally talented submission grappler that will benefit greatly from a coaching situation like he will get on TUF.

I look forward to seeing him do well on the show.
