What do you guys think of this verse and the variations out there?

Many believe that this verse was a later interpolation not found in the original and that it was added to bolster the theology of the trinity. Doesn't matter to me in that if it's there God wanted it there.

IF I understand that verse and the other contextually the witness of the Christian is specifically the work of God as Father (in creation) the Word (in redemption) and the Spirit (in regeneration) and these three specific and distinct manifestations and offices of the One God witness to the believer.

There are three elements to that...The Spirit the Water and the Blood and interestingly enough rather then saying "these three are one" these three "agree as one".

so the Spirit the water and the blood are 3 distinct elements and are all needed to testify as to the believer as well.
