Shame, I always enjoyed watching his fights. I have no doubt he'll be back.

He will be back.  I would love to see Cote vs Robbie Lawlor in Strikeforce, or even Cote vs Lombard in Bellator.  There are some good matchups out there for him.

He has to improve his ground game 100 fold....so it will be a long time before he gets back, if he does.  The game has evolved light years.....and if you are not skilled in all facets of MMA....it's just hard to compete.  With the explosion of the sport and more mainstream fans watching, organizations will be looking for fighters who are exciting to watch and bring excitement into the cage/ring....his lack of a ground game will call for boring fights....all of his opponents will ground him.   He also didn't look that great in his stand-up in his last fight other.

If he does make it back, be sure to see a totally different Cote.

That sucks! I've always been a huge fan, but i have to admit it was tough watching him on the bottom the whole fight, his ground game didn't look up to par. I was super excited to watch him throw his hands, but Tom did a good job with a smart game plan.

I hope to see him back in the UFC soon and will be eagerly watching his next fight, wherever it is.

non-existent ground game, sub par striking = 5 year UFC Run, see how doing a favor for zuffa like Pat did can really help you out.

Exactly, seems like a no-brainer pickup for Strikeforce.

Not unexpected, but still no fun.

I like Cote, hopefully we'll see him in some big fights outside the UFC now!

YVEL looked like he was release pre fight :( Re releases, I think it's better with guys that are not relevant to be out in the open water. Essentially external gate keepers.

Wow @ that MFC logo. Kinda reminds me of Mcdowell's LOL

If Yvel is already cut, I wonder if Gonzaga and Ortiz are also about to happen?

Cote was done in the UFC a long time ago. He was a poor gatekeeper.

Monsters Ball - Like Chael said. Most of the guys Silva beat can't maintain their roster spot.

+1

and Dana wants people to believe Fedor fights cans.

GodSaveTheQueen - Too bad he won't be calling out Bisping anymore.

Next time, try to win your fights against fringe top 25 middleweights and then call out the big dogs.
How about you man up and change your screen name before you start shit talking fighters.  For all the shit talking you UKers do, you cant even back up a lost screen name bet.  Quit with the excuses.

Lol. But actually he's a good striker (not on Anderson's level of course, but still good), and if people would choose to stand up with him he'd still be in the UFC. Of course, most folks just go to the ground automatically with him - why look a gift horse in the mouth?
