Dana does a fantastic job, but I sure would like to see him listen to his customers on this one, it would really show his priorities are in order...give people what they want to see!

He made an example of Harris.

He was clearly down 2 rounds to none.
and made NO attempt to win that fight in the 3rd.

True, but Harris was hurt, Falcao should have finished him.  Watch the 3rd again, if you can stand it...Harris is wobbly but he TRIES to hit Falcao with something, and Falcao runs backwards everytime he gets close, leaving Harris only able to hit him with a jab as he ran started running, or shoot from 10 feet away, which wasn't working.

I am just surprised by this reaction from the often fan friendly Dana.

now that the ufc cut you, shouldn't you be saving your money instead of spending 30 bucks on a blue name?

Dana doesn't care about some of the fans, he mostly cares about his business more than anything. I dont blame him, he's in there for the money

No one gives a shit about Harris other than the hardcore fans. The casual fan make up the majority of the UFC's customer base. If a fighter doesn't put on a show their are out as soon as they start losing. This is the way of the world. If you don't like it, turn off the UFC. I have an even better idea, start your own promotion and sign Harris. Dana does what's best for the promotion, the UFC isn't a welfare office for fighters that can't make the grade.

the thing that is bullshit about it all is that if harris gets choked out in the first then he is probably still fighting for the ufc

Probably better to be a bit covert about it, e.g. 'hey Dana, when's that guy that was on Sportscenter fighting next?'

mata_leao - Do people really like Gerald Harris that much???? He's not THAT good....Paul Harris would destroy him. Keep the better Harris around.

I don't think people like Harris that much, it is more the principle of the matter. Cutting a talented guy who was 3-1, who helped out the company on many occasions, and did everything the "right" way while you keep some real losers on board smacks of hypocrisy. Especially when you did it to make an "example" of him to other fighters.

He just needs to win a couple of fights on smaller shows, wait until someone drops off the card with an injury, and be willing to step up. Hopefully things work out for him, he's got a lot of talent and he's a nice guy.
