Got these in the first hour today. Unfortunately I spent the next two looking for new spots and only found about ten more.

Yeah it seemed to be an early season here also. I've heard of the second wave of yellows but never looked much . Phone Post

Thinking of tossing ALL the peckerhead types based on comments made on a site about a few looking like false verpa bohemica. Thing is all the guides online show verpa bohemica with white filled insides. None of mine had that when cut, all hollow, and all connected halfway in middle of head. But not into getting sick on a false one.

Might just stick to the greys and yellows.

Wish I could post pics. My Sis bro in law and nephew found a shit load yesterday . Big yellows. East central Indiana. The pic I have is the tailgate of his truck piled about 1 foot high from one side to the other . 340 in one spot. All in the grass pasture not even near the woods. They were riding the 4wheeler and spotted them. Talked to another guy who found a bunch in a grass pasture the other day . ...... I haven't heard of the peckerhead like ones you are talking about I'd say you are safe . Phone Post

 Nameless,

Some fucko tried to tell me that a few in the above pic look like false morels. All of the ones above were attached at bottom and hollow.

My season is over. Kinda lost the drive and think it is pretty much done here. Was fun but thought I would pull more this year. This lady posted a pic of the 27 lbs she and her husband pulled over 3 days in Iowa. Insane amount:

Look like real morels to me, never seen or heard of false ones.... You didn't get sick or hallucinate did ya ? Damn 27 pounds wow! Yeah it's all over here. Real good year for them for sure. Nonetheless it's just nice being out in the woods strolling around . Phone Post

They grow alot in the woodchips at my former Uni. I'd take some to my gf's house and cook them in butter. Good stuff.
