My ex is trying to get me to pay for a cellphone bill ($700).

When we got the phones (2 handsets) they were in her name only, but we each got a phone. She was a stay at home mom, and I paid the bill, even though it's in her name only. We split up and I stopped paying the bill. Now, 7 years later (this was in 2004) she wants ME to pay the entire amount so that it no longer reflects negatively on her credit.

She's threatening to take me to court over this bill.

Does she have a grievance?

My take is that because the bill is in her name ONLY, that I'm not responsible for it.

If the bill was after you guys finalized the divorce, and there's nothing in the divorce decree about it, then you're good and should tell her to shove it.

If it was 7 years ago it should fall off her credit report regardless. Unless she's a retard. I'm gonna guess she's a retard?
