 bringing in Bill Fitch, Rober Parish, and Kevin McHale had nothing to do with it I suppose.

But yes obviously Bird made them much better.

 ok Larry Bird was fucking good I just hated him as a kid. Shaq was still better though.

I have to agree that Shaq was the sort of player that could make any decent team a contender, Bird less so but he was better for that Celtic team IMO.

Look at Scottie Pippen, he was the second best player in the world when he played with Jordan's Bulls, he was just an All Star everywhere else.

lol thats better

Shaq like Wilt Chamberlin is a one of a kind player. I think, as dominant as he has been, he was capable of being so much more. That said, I don't know of any other player that has taken or dealt as much punishment as Shaq.
