Lucio Linhares fought Professor X in France this past weekend and broke him arm blocking a high kick in the first round.

He went on to win via submission in the second - Spartan by name, Spartan by nature:

That's his second win since getting cut, and when this heals I don't think he's far off a call back to the big time.

Fuck that must have been a hard kick! To go on and win by submission shows why this sport is the greatest of all!

VTFU for Harris!

Fuuuuuck fighting another round with that kind of break. Linhares is game for sure. Too bad he has to have surgery on that hand and spent couple of months away from the gym.

Umm.

I'm calling bs.

He may have broken his arm, but no one's fighting with the bone break, and lose pieces that are in the picture.

Hmm...looks like I should've agreed to fight him in March. I would've gotten a trip to the North and a replacement opponent. Unfortunately, the pay would've still been crap.

I think there's a couple of guys that can attest to it being legit, his cornerman for that one Karl Amoussou being one.

I had a similar break and I can vouch for the fact that suffering such an injury and not breaking down in tears takes determination--never mind continuing to fight in a cage and eventually submit someone. I'll bet dollars to donuts he'll need plate for that, and also a cast that goes well past the elbow. Phone Post

Great example of why a much greater percentage of a promotions revenue should be paid out to the athletes.

Its not a game.

There is no such thing as a "break".  It's called a fracture no matter how bad it is.  That, for example, is a complete fracture.   Ask any orthopedic surgeon.  They don't use the term break.
