My goal is to constantly improve, so I'm really trying to shed any ideas I might be holding onto too tightly. I'm finding that a little knowledge can be dangerous, but the mistake is to shy away from further knowledge and revert to the previously comfortable spot you were in.

So here is what I've been doing:

1) I've arranged a weekly sweat/study session with a couple of players I respect. We go through HHs and try to determine the most +EV way to play them. It's been extremely helpful so far.

2) I've been tracking my live cash sessions. I've tracked 30 sessions so far. My avg profit per session is $221, with an average hourly profit of $150. I rarely play more than 2 hours a day right now, but that is going to change soon.

3) I am building up a live tournament bankroll that is separate from my live cash bankroll. I'm doing this by playing the very juicy satellites at the LAPC. You are paid in tournament buy in chips, and I've colled $900 in tournament chips in only 3 sessions. I'll sell them before the series ends and use that money as my live tourney roll.

4) I have decided not to deposit any money online. I have a few hundred online and that will have to be enough. I'm going to try to build a bankroll online though SnGs or cash, but will avoid MTTs altogether, unless there is a good one in the $10-$20 range.

5) I'm also on the lookout for more books, though I think I purchased the best possible one for me. It's a Poker Odds and Probabilities book by Matthew Hilger.

Any advice?

oh yeah,

also duecues cracked for 1 month would be helpful. then cancel subscription. figure out what u want to concentrate on and during that month download a buttload of videos, just go on a downloading spree right on to ur harddrive. then cancel, watch videos, learn, win monies.

subscipt is like 30 bux, well worth it.

Cade, thanks man! I've actually read vol 1 and 2 cover to cover 3 or 4 times. Great books. I also had a membership at duecescracked, but didn't fully utilize it. I'll probably rejoin.

andre, you should try the rush $4.40 SnG on FT to build your roll. Or the $12 ones f you have the roll for it.

I built my roll thru them and now that i have enough to play cash games at a decent buy in, i dont want to stop playing them. lol

also i got tons of vids from most of the sites off of torrent sites. you can try that too.

Hi Andre,

Are you still playing online cash games at all?
If so, what stakes?

Actually, I should have said that my gross was $1600. I bought in for $350.

I think I played cash online 5 or 6 times, so I wasnt really playing it much. I dont remember the stakes, exactly. I just remember that Vector appropriately admonished me for playing at those stakes.

I play $5/$5 stakes live. It's a pretty big game, but online I would play .50/1 if I were to play cash.

I really have no plans to play cash online. I live 10 minutes from two casinos filled with drunks and rich retirees. The money is easy and I can avoid hands with the two or three sharks at the table.

SILENTSTRYKE,

Please elaborate on your rush SnG success.

Personally, I never much considered Rush poker as it's fairly new and I my focus has been trying to improve my game in regular NLHE Tournament/Cash Games.

You make it sound like a cash cow though.

What's your strategy?
What recommendations do you have for some one who is new to this type of play?
What other wisdom about your experience in this type of SnGs do you have?

(Start another thread if you think that would be best.)

Thanks

I just won a satellite for $1085. The only thing that sucks
Is that they pay you in tournament buy in chips. I have to try to sell ten of these $100 chips.

PR,

That would be awesome! A beer, or ten, on me!

LLORT, I rarely play cash games at Commerce because its far from where I live, but I'm always there for the tournaments and if I bust out early then I hop downstairs for the cash games. I'm not a fan of the $100, but if I you want to get together to play on one the next time I'm there, that would be great.
