I picked up a tube screamer, TS9, and it sound exaclty like what I want. The Fuchs would be better but it is tough for me to drop 275 right now on that. Maybe in the future

Is it better to get a powered pedal board?.  I stil have some other pedals to get prior to this but just curious

depends on the power. you want some sort of filtering/filtered power to everything including the pedals....i hate hum more then anything

keeps power level constant. no noise on the line. no 60 cycle hum. no cross talk.

I talked to a couple of people about this.  One guy tells me he changes hiw cables to make them 3 prong to ground them better. Another guy only uses rack effect and he has them grounded to the case somehow.  I am not mechanical whiz but it seems like these pedalboards have filtered power and should ground them fine. Am I right?

In order of chain :

X2 Digital Wireless
Dunlop Dime Wah (ive tried to replace this with 'cooler' boutique wahs and it slays them all for what I do)
TC Poly Tune
EVH Flanger
Whirlwind Orange box phaser
Xotic BB+ with Mid Boost preamp
Z Vex Super Hard On
ISP Decimator Noise Gate

In my FX loop lives a MXR 10 Band EQ and an Eventide Timefactor Delay.

These are all powered by a MXR CAE MC-403 Power Supply

hey, I have a friend who used one of those. What do you ue as an amp... don't they have their own special speakers for them?

One of my favorite pro guitarists (lincoln brewster) uses them now.

It really is amazing how great it is--the most amazing piece of gear I've ever used.
I only use it for recording, home use and light jamming with friends as I dont play live anymore. I play it through a pair of studio monitors.
Fractal does make its own cabs you can use but their are a lot of FRFR options. Also, you can always go straight into your amps FX return and get good results

Pardon me if I've told this story elsewhere, but:

I stage managed for Charlie Daniels a couple months ago. I was packing the opener's backline in the truck outside & the lead guitarist's tone right off the stage mix was just fucking destroying. I went to the audio guy to ask him what he had in his rig & he lifted up an insrument cable.

Dude was playing an old strat through an original 57 fender tweed, no pedals, no rack, nothing. Pure tone from his goddamn fingers.
