In the first fight of the Strikeforce heavyweight tournament, Sergei Kharitonov exposed Andrei Arlovski's glass chin, knocking him unconscious in the first round.

Although Arlovski's boxing looked crisp in the early going, it wasn't long before Kharitonov connected with a hard punch, and when he did, Arlovski was stunned. A few more hard punches and Arlovski was out cold, and it looked ugly to see Arlovski asleep on the canvas.

I know it's highly improbable but I'm pulling for Kharitonov to win the tourney. I've been following his fights since he's been in the game and he's one tough SOB. It would be awesome if he atleast goes far in the tourney, gets popular, then gets picked up by UFC and fights guys like JDS or Caine Velasquez. Phone Post

Andrei's style is doctor prescribed to Sergei.

Andrei is a passive fighter, he constantly waits for his opponent to initiate a move, watch his fights, especially with Bigfoot, he stands there waiting for Bigfoot to punch him.

Also the moment exchanges start Andrei seems to forget everything he's learned, drops his hands, backs up straight, sticks out his jaw, flat footed, no sense of distance and feeling for his opponent.

Think of a Rally driver, when you see a Rally driver driving his car, you see him turning the wheel, shifting pedals, but underneath all that is the really important stuff, his feeling of the car, it's weight, of the road, the inertia, all that is more important than how nicely he turns the wheel.

Andrei is like a Rally driver that turns the wheel and shifts gears very technically and beautifully but completely does not feel the car or the road.

Andrei is not really a thinking and versatile fighter, TBH, he really does not strike me an intelligent guy.

Sergei will pick his shots and methodically destroy him.

Great matchup.

I'm not sure what anyone has seen from sergei lately to give them so much confidence. He doesn't fight and when he does he looks poorly conditioned. Huge talent but has the opposite of Fedor's drive. AA by decision Phone Post
