A lightweight bout between veteran Jeremy Stephens (19-6 MMA, 6-5 UFC) and "The Ultimate Fighter 12" winner Jonathan Brookins (12-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) is in the works for June.

A source close to the event told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) the two fighters are expected to meet at The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale.

The fight, which will be one of the few not associated with the reality series' conclusion, takes place June 4 at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

I'm suprised to see Brookins fighting at 155. I assumed after winning the show he'd drop to 145.

dont count brookens out, he survived 3 rounds with jose aldo pre-TUF and im sure the kid has picked up a few skills along the way. id like to see him pull out the win. i dont think he will but ill be rootin for him.

I thought Brookins would drop to 45, he'll avoid the power punches and get the TD eventually getting the sub. Phone Post

brookins would have more success at FW, this might be another highlight reel knockout win for jeremy since brookins stand up isn't great.

maybe zuffa gave him such a strong fighter so he can lose and have a reason to drop to 145.  He just won TUF as a 155er he has to fight atleast once.

Amir won TUF at MW and his first fight post-TUF was WW.

I'd hate to see either lose, but Brookins can afford it more. Should be a great fight. Phone Post

Giving him Jeremy Stephens after his last performance makes me think someone doesn't like him. He's a good grappler but it's not like Stephens is a can on the ground or has no takedown defence. If he backs up with his chin in the air like he did in his last fight he's going to get his face broke.Very dangerous first fight for this kid.I feel sorry for him.

Kind of being thrown in at the deep end. Though, winning TUF should mean that you have to face decent competition. Phone Post

When I first looked at the picture of Brookins on this article, I thought he was Cris Cyborg Phone Post
