ftr - I'm 99% sure Will Dias is Australian (has an Aussie Passport), he is obviously Brazilian heritage.

So that is 1 less to complain about.

A return flight from Rio-Sydney is likely to be more expensive than a return flight from Rio-Abu Dhabi or Rio-USA.

I wasnt aware that any Brazo's flew in for the explicit purpose of competing at the pro comp.

well i guess im lucky then, cos i havent been to a seminar in over 7 years.
and dima, ur showing ur ignorance again. the only brazilian that competed whilst here for seminars was flavio. robson moura was here also, he didnt compete, and im sure he could have taken the <65kg class easily.
a few other guys were here as well, they chose to not compete for whatever reason. flavio chose to compete because i guess he is one of those people that like to compete and showwcase his skills and keep himself sharp.

i dont know whose worse, u or leftnut.

Heaven forbid anyone should want to jump at the chance to train with world class athletes in the sport they love.

I guess if you were a soccer fan you'd turn your nose up at a chance to do a seminar with that "brazo" Pele.

The Gracie Barra summer camp has always been held in February. This is the reson Flavio was here. Competing in the comp was incidental to this. What is it so hard to comprehend?

I think what has been hard to comprehend is how leftnut and Dima have managed to survive in life without being hit by a bus, that's how stupid they come across as. Saying stupid shit without thinking

Idiots the both of you... Foreigners are taking Aussie spots and your both pumped about it because it's supposedly a huge thing... Maybe one day when you grow sum balls and compete and one of these ring ins takes your place on your hard earned dollar you'll understand... Until then keep representing the Brazo's, keep Lining their pockets... And most importantly Keep hugging their nuts. Phone Post

At least dima and I share the same feelings wrt seminars. To me, it's more of a meet and greet, get a photo taken with someone semi famous in a particular field and see some different techniques. I prefer watching instructionals and plain old mat time
And again, I'm not the one condoning the allowance of outsiders to the comp, I think it's pretty shitty, but notmuch I can do about it, talk to the sheik

Let me paraphrase
' THEY'RE TAKING OUR JOBS, ROOTING OUR WOMEN, AND LOOK A LITTLE BIT FUNNY, SO I HATE THEM ALL'. Dude, 1950 called and wants its' ignorance back.

The reality is, they are NOT representng Australia. BJJ is an individual sport, where people represent their GYM, not their state, or nation (despite advertising). The structure of this sport is substantially different to most others, which is WHY I reckon it's cool to have the qualifiers open to everyone.

Put simply, if the Finals in Abu Dhabi are truly gonna pit the best of the world against each other, why should Aus (or any country for that matter) AUTOMATICALLY be represented. I want t osee the best 16 guys in the world, not a few good guys and some token minorities (us in this case).

Until EVERY SINGLE COUNTRY has their own qualifiers, this argument, much like most that occur on the net, is completely retarded.

Invisible Lats Syndrome - Go compete elsewhere if you don't like their entry requirements. It's simple.

How'd you go in the trials?

I gave it a miss. I'm only 1st generation migrant so I figured I better sit it out just in case I wasn't Australian enough and some people's feelings got hurt.

Why does someone waxing their Nutz prohibit them from representing Australia..Sure National Rep selection should be based on of a high standard of Australian affiliation too some degree..Much like a Olympian/Cricketer who changes country gets Naturalised and sits out of competition for a few years before national selection..Surely waxing, like a tattoo or pierced ear, is a personal choice

You're either a complete retard or a shithouse troll!

The only point I am retorting is your accusation that a whole crew of Brazos flew into Sydney with the sole intention of going in the comp. I think we can all agree that this accusation holds no merit.

im suprised youv'e even got time to train with the amount of posts you have put up.
fuck me dead 11896 !!!!!!!!!
that is over ten posts a day EVERYDAY for 3 years. You obviously have no life.
maybe get ya ass away from the computer and train so you are one day good enough to go in the trials rather than sitting on the fence supporting the brazo's.

Don't get why everybody is so upset about this.

While I agree it should be for citizens fact is the Brazos are playing by the rules that have been set and if we're not good enough to beat them on home soil who cares if 5 or 6 guys don't get to fly across the world to get knocked out in the first round?

By the way having a handful of aussies lose first round at Abu Dhabi won't progress the sport as quickly as having the top guys coming over to our comps so that a lot more people get to test themselves against these guys.

just to throw into the mix... Flavio turned down the flight as i understand (since it is specifically from Oz to Abu Dhabi - Morgan (runner up in -92kg) has got the spot instead.

Last couple of seminars I have recorded (Vitor Vianna and Guto Campos). Great collection of techniques that i review often.
