Anybody had the chance to watch this? I know it's centered around his uchi-mata. I have the Koga and Jeon DVDs from the same company. Here's a trailer from Youtube:

Seen a few reviews online, but most of them weren't all that detailed. Just wondering if any of you have seen these DVDs, and how you were able to improve your game as a result.

The DVD's are awesome and give a lot of detail of his uchimata and kumikata strategies. Worth every pennny! The problem with these dvd just that the fact that own them doesn't necessary mean that your game goes up automaticly. Just have to practice.

I have both the Jeon and Inoue dvd's. Both have what my sensei calls "Ippon judo". They each developed their own strengths with techniques that were superior to their opponents. I think the benefits are to try their techniques and bring in to your game what is applicable. I particularly watch their setups for the throws. right vs right, right vs left stances. I don't have the koga dvd because I am not a seionage specialists. I do have the Quelmallz video which is excellent for left handers.

Thanks for the input, guys.

Just saw the box set on Ebay for $10 which is a hell of a bargain, but the sucky thing is that the seller's only including 2 out of 3 DVDs for some reason. Still might try to place a bid anyway....

Totally agree about having to practice what's on the DVDs. And at the same time, I have to watch the technique over, and over, and over until I even make sure that I'm covering all points correctly. A whole lot of trial and error on my behalf.

Regarding "Koga: A New Wind," I couldn't implement a whole lot. Seoi-nage has never been a strong technique of mine. Jeon's DVD was a little more practical for me(despite a fair portion of his DVD being devoted to seoi-nage).

Interestingly, the instructional that I took the most away from has been Igor Yakimov's "Russian Judo." Guy kind of cracks me up when he explains techniques, same as Mario Sperry and his BJJ instructionals.

Wasn't even aware of the Quelmallz DVD; interested to check that out now.

The DVDs are great! We watched it in class and spent 3 weeks practicing Uchi-mata. I cringed at the way Inoue was pronounced though

I found the trailer(s) on you tube. He is unique blend of ground work/throwing for his ippons in world class competition. Most champions are ippon throwers. A must DVD for lefties. And I think today's judokas are better ground fighters in general at that level.
