Kinda funny. Finally admitts Steven Seagal did not teach him that kick.

I don't understand how SIlva can think we are all stupid.

He's maintained that Segal helped him tweak the kick.  According to that article, he still does.

Anarkis2 - I am sorry but thats clearly not what he said. Seagal taught him how to fix his kicks is what he said.

This.

Seagal haters say he had nothing to do with Anderson's training and he's just trolling.

Seagal nuthuggers say that Anderson Silva owes his victory over Belfort to Seagal.

Both are retarded. Seagal helped Anderson improve his technique... that's it. He didn't teach him the kick, which is extremely obvious because he's used it multiple times before.. but the main difference is that it's never been as effective until Seagal worked with him on it.

There's your story.

IT TOOK FORTY YEARS TO PERFECT THE KICK

SEGAL FINE TUNED IT INTO A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT WEAPON

Deceitful.  Is there any depth to which Seagal's detractor's won't sink?

It's time you people faced up to the fact that every book every written about Anderson Silva from now to doomsday will include at least one chapter about Steven Seagal.

Hasnt anyone seen the video of him sparring with Machida in a soutpaw stance and anderson is practicing that kick. Its more of a kyoshukin karate kick. Id wager money, he and machida worked that alot.

you are correct and stating what's already been said many times for a month. but the only people that ever tried to paint it as "seagal invented that kick/was 100% responsible for the belfort victory" etc. were the anti-seagal trolls.

silva has now gone on record a dozen times stating master seagal did indeed improve his kicking, even telling the seagal haters to fuck off.

haters gonna hate

he is presently in arizona having firefights with the mexican drug cartels. what did you do today?

MMA 3.0... it has arrived. deal with it

Sakbjj - " but the only people that ever tried to paint it as "seagal invented that kick/was 100% responsible for the belfort victory" etc. were the anti-seagal trolls." Seagal also tried to paint it as he invented the kick when he said the following quotes immediately after the fight: 1. "nobody knows the KICK. I AM TEACHING it to Machida, Anderson... And 2. "right before he (Silva) walked out I said... ...and do that KICK I'VE BEEN TEACHING you" And 3. "...(the KICK) it's something I CREATED that's a little bit different..." and 4. "I Started TEACHING HIM KICKS that he could really hurt people with". As I said in another thread, it could be argued that he actually meant he helped modify the kick, but it is a huge difference to say the above quotes as opposes to "I, with Rizzo and Feijao helped modify Silva's front kick to make it more effect". Seagal's quotes make it seem like he is trying to take credit for teaching Silva a front kick - it was these quotes that started all the controversy. They made Seagal seem arrogant, egotistical, full of shit and a joke. In truth, if Seagal had been either clearer as to his participation or more humble about his participation there would nit have been any controversy. Seagal is a legit Martial Artist that I believe would have knowledge to share. It's too bad it appeared he tried to take all and full credit for The Kick. The apparent ridiculousness of that possibly misinterpreted claim, opened him to ridicule. Phone Post
