"Five Ounces of Pain has learned talks between KSW and controversial striker James Irvin are ongoing with the expectation “The Sandman” will fill the vacancy opposite Khalidov.

Though Irvin is currently facing a probable suspension from the CSAC after testing positive for steroids and was removed from an upcoming Shark Fights event as a result of the hit, Poland does not have an athletic commission meaning he can be cleared to compete there while risking repercussions back in the States by violating the board’s findings. Why hasn't he signed with Strikeforce or the UFC yet?

I'll bet the payout is a lot better with KSW than Shark Fights.

I want to see Khalidov in the UFC

Hopefully a win over Irvin makes that happen.

Side note: Out of all of the fighters I have met, Irvin is one of the largest. He is a giant human being.

This fight is a fight khalidov needs to win if he hopes to reach the top promotions, a win over irvin esp if impressive should prove hes pretty legit and earn him a slot on a major promotion and a loss will put a huge damper on khalidov with irvin gaining little credit due to how hes looked lately Phone Post

I don't know why Irvin would risk it. He needs to chill, not make thing worse. To just go do a fight against what people seem to be saying is a good fighter, doesn't make sense with his troubles here in the states.

I don't think the money is worth it to further worsen things here in the states.

NarlyPersianDude - now this is great matchmaking. If Irvin wins, he shows he back and maybe better than ever. If Khalidov wins, he shows he really is as good as some people think.

LOL you must be joking. James Irvin is a nobody that hasn't been relevant or beaten a decent opponent for like 3 years. This fight is like when Lombard fought Herbert Goodman. Calling it "great matchmaking" is hysterical.

James Irvin hurts himself more than any of his opponents do.

How can I compare him to Herbert Goodman? Oh I dunno, maybe because they both lose badly every time they face someone good?

Just lol at Irvin. He gave Khalidov his arm and tapped before it was even fully extended.
