wonder if he will get a put on the prelims?

I think its time, he needs to smash a c leveler to get his confidence back.

At one time I thought Vera was going to rule the UFC. He was never the same after that hold out and he also lost out on a lot of money. City boxing didn't manage Vera and Noons wisely IMO.

Vera's skillset is definitely UFC level, he just hasn't had the mindset at 205. Ever since his loss to Sylvia and drop in weight it's like he's been hesitant to pull the trigger, and once he gets taken down he's content to lay there. Strange when this happens to a fighter. I really like Vera too. Hopefully he'll get his mojo back.

i really want him to do better, but he said something like "silva felt so strong, i told myself i better start lifting after this"

and i really dont understand how a professional athlete doesnt lift weights at all, and he doesnt even look like he does

he needs to get his shit together

When did Vera stop training with Rob Kaman was it not around the same time.

I think his departure from Kaman has a lot to do with his decline in striking.

I reserve the right to be wrong here though I am just a 10'er after all

He definitely has the skillset but he's hesitant like a lot of fighters...Every fighter should have the Sonen attitude of fighting

For a guy who used to fight at HW it is hard to believe he looks like a very small LHW. He looks weak in there, how a guy with supposedly high level greco becomes weak when they are a professional fighter is beyond me.

I like Vera...but until he PROVES that he's back and taking shit seriously, I'm not paying attention to anything he says. Hes been saying this shit for years, and it's gotten old.

that's what I don't get - why does ufc cut a level fighters after they lose a fight to another a level fighter instead of putting them on prelim and giving them a newcomer? wtf

vera has that technical skills, but not the mental and physical abilities to hang with the top LHWs.

it's already been said... he's been gun-shy ever since breaking his hand in the first rd of the Timmay fight. I'll always root for him. that's my boy from the SD, and I really hope he finds what got him to the UFC in the first place. Phone Post
