Awesome vid. Only a hater can deny how great Nick really is.

It is a true pleasure to watch such a gifted fighter battle it out in today's MMA. His style is action-packed, he never backs down, and technically his movements are steps above his competition.

If you fail to appreciate his real skills, you are blind to the intricacies of the sport. The guy is phenomenal at what he does, and as a fan I feel damned lucky to be able to watch him fight.

dont know how you cant be a fan. all i hear people give out about is boring fighters these days, nick is one of the most exciting fighters ever in mma, up there with wanderlei at the moment with the intensity he is bringing in there, of course different styles but just as exciting.

too many armchair psychologists on here shitting on him because of how he holds himself around fight time.

back to the video, he has implemented that strategy against so many guys lately. will be interesting to see how he does against a wrestler in the ufc again, i dont think anyone will be able to hold him down or submit him. a lot of great fights in the future.

I am a fan of Nicks, but if you try and box like him you are probably gonna get killed. Obviously It works well for him, and that is because he realizes the danger of keeping his hands down or away from his face like that, and he is watching for incoming fire.

I think his student in that video is probably not aware of how exposed his chin is.

It depends really on what type of boxing background you have. I used to compete in boxing for years simultaneously as doing MMA and I use the same kind of strikes as he does very effectively. I can actually fire off my hands much faster when I keep them low and bait my opponent into striking with me.

You also need to be good with angles, distance, head movement and most importantly timing.

However I only do this when I want to have some fun in the gym. I use a different approach to use my wrestling/kicks effectively and it's not fully possible if you have that stance.

The guy Nick is teaching in the vid is Victor Galdon. Victor is the jiu jitsu teacher at my MMA school. Hella random.

Cherokee Diaz - Nick looks alittle junky. The guy must be pretty big in person.

He is big. I've seen him and his brother Nate and a few friends in a bar before. My friend and I wanted to say whats up and that were fans but we didn't want to bother him. Sorta regret it now that I think about it.
