What ever happened with him? Anybody know how he's doing?

I remember him when he was an active fighter and had some legal issues.

He last fought in 2006.

Let's be honest, you'd much rather be making a thread about him than meeting him in person right? Seems like the thorps guy that wants to sleep on your couch and eat all your food while wAtching porn on your computer. Phone Post

He always had mental issues. He could have been a legend but always had issues in life and he really was crazy and not right in the head.

DAVENPORT, Iowa --

Two bus loads of fans from Bobby Hoffman's hometown of Centerville, Iowa, made the trip to see Extreme Challenge 35 at the RiverCenter.

They weren't disappointed as Hoffman, the Extreme Challenge heavyweight champion, successfully defended his title by pounding former UFC fighter Sam Adkins in the main event. A smashing shot broke Adkins' nose at the 2:25 mark of the first round and the ring doctor halted the bout as Adkins' face was almost completely covered in blood.

"I'm satisfied with the win," Hoffman said. "Adkins is a quality opponent and I know he's a good striker,so I wanted to get him down and pound him."

Hoffman, 14-2 in NHB, will compete in RINGS USA in Orem, Utah. on July 15. He also is scheduled to make his UFC debut on Sept. 22.

The most excitement of the evening happened at cageside, with a near confrontation between Ken Shamrock and Bobby Hoffman, the Extreme Challenge (Iowa promotion run by Monte Cox) heavyweight champion.

Hoffman started yelling at Lion’s Den fighter Alex Andrade, who became the first fighter ever to be disqualified in a UFC match. At the time, fighters were allowed to wear approved shoes if they wanted to kick, but the Iowa State Athletic Commission had adopted rules that a fighter couldn’t kick wearing shoes. At the rules meeting the day before, it was explained, and Shamrock’s side decided Andrade would wear the shoes for traction and agree to throw no kicks in his match against Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace Amoury Bitetti.

But when Andrade got in the cage, he reverted back to instinct and was throwing kicks. After two warnings by referee John McCarthy, he threw another kick, and was disqualified in a match he was dominating. Hoffman started yelling at Andrade, causing Shamrock to start yelling at Hoffman. The sides were separated before they came to blows.

Yeah, very exciting fighter. Too bad about his legal problems, and I hope his wife/girlfriend is also o.k.

I think he was already very old by the time he was fighting, so he is probably just too old to be fighting now.

had a worked fight against tony bonello in australia a few years back.

apparently BH didn't follow the script properly and ended up knocking TB out with some vicious GNP. however he ended up getting a DQ or some shit for some stupid reason.

they had a rematch and TB won. what a surprise

also James Lee had a fight against TB as well in australia and he threw that fight as well. however he got a broken nose for his troubles in that fight which was by accident.

anyway, shady people doing shady shit.

Hoffman was a street brawler type fighter with heavy hands, sort of a Tank Abbott type fighter without the guy., he was a tough out for anybody.

IN his fight against Josh Barnett, Barnett yelled " Bring it Bobby" at the start of the fight to infuriate Hoffman into rushing in which he did so Barnett could promptly take him down. Hoffman fell for the ploy

My brother-in-law was a few feet away from the Shamrock/Hoffman faceoff at Ultimate Field of Dreams.  Hoffman was going around the arena saying "Ken Shamrock is a pussy," to anyone who would listen.
