Mike Massenzio has agreed to step in on less than one week's notice against Krzysztof Soszynski at UFC 131, officials announced late Monday night.

The opportunity presented itself for Massenzio, who was released from the organization in August after losing his second fight in a row, after Igor Pokrajac was withdrew from his fight against Soszynski due to an undisclosed injury.

Massenzio has some guts.  He's going up a weight on short notice.

Massenzio is a tough opponent for anyone. Not sure how much of a game plan him and his team will be able to formulate with 1 week's notice. Regardless, Massenzio's multi fight contract should be renewed just for stepping up.

You guys at AMA are BY FAR my favorite guys in MMA. Seriously everyone from your whole camp bring it in each and every fight. Good luck to Massenzio in this fight and to Jim Miller when he gets his title shot next.

I watched his last fight up in New Hampshire, he looked really sharp, but much too small to be fighting at 205.

He's 6'2" - so why is he too small to be fighting at 205?
