I'm creating a facebook app where users can customize their own 3D avatars with clothes/tattoos/hair design, and be able to add background music as well. It's a twofold question, could I get sued in case users create offensive content (like racist tattoos), or on copyright grounds if they link to copyrighted music?

Possibly on the copyright infringement. Your question is more complex than you might think, but the best general answer I can give is you might be liable for an app user's illegal activity, although it I think it's unlikely anything would go beyond a cease and desist letter for a Facebook app.

Ken, thank you. I'll take the chance and see what happens.
