Hello All,

I'm enlisting into the US Army and if everything goes as planned my MOS will be 89D, EOD Specialist. I don't know if there are any EOD vets or or current soldiers with this job on here, but I was wondering if anyone had any advice on material to study or review to prepare for the AIT. From what I've heard, this MOS has one of the hardest AITs and I do not want to flunk out. If there is any advice or material anyone knows that would help me out, I would greatly appreciate hearing it. Thanks for any help!

With Love,

gfc Phone Post

while i'm not an EOD tech, i will say there is prolly not a lot you can do now to prepare. from the guys i've talked to that do the job, how they do things and how they are taught are very, very specific (for safety reasons). so even if you started reading demo books or something, you might learn the wrong way to do something or misunderstand the concepts.

just my .02, though.

good luck!

Former army eod. These days, you will get quite a few shots to make it through school. Keep a good attitude, stay the entire time at study hall, and don't get arrested. Good luck! Phone Post

Went to MEPS, met all the requirements for it. Was excited the entire waiting period to finally get this damn job, failed the color test. And I mean FAILED. like 11 out of the 14 number circle things wrong. Ended up having to settle for another job, luckily they had Medic available. Anyway, thank you all for your support. Looks like my new goal is going to be getting into and through airborne and ranger school, eventually. Phone Post

You should have went infantry if you wanted to do all the high speed shit. I could be a little biased though. Phone Post
