Picked up a older bike for kicking around on.

Most bikes here are around 200 cc , I went with a old 96 Honda Shadow 600.

I have rebuilt most everything in the last last week. Problem is the tank.

The tank had been creamed before but the crap was coming off inside. Shoddy job I guess.

So I put some washers and bolts inside and took the hillbilly route of threw it in the dryer. It worked well and I got all the liner out.

Now though I am looking for something to cleanse the tank as much as possible so I do not have to do the carbs again every time I take a ride. Basically there is a film of rust now inside the tank.

Also if anyone has used exhaust tape and how much heat it actually cuts from straight pipes. Could I get away with using marine asbestos tape and just shellac it? As shit rarely makes it through customs lately.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
