The above figures are based on the fighter salary information that promoters are required by law to submit to the state athletic commissions, including the winners’ bonuses. Although mixed martial arts fighters do not have collective bargaining or a union, the fighters’ salaries are still public record, just as with every other major sport in the United States. Any undisclosed bonuses (including, pay-per-view bonuses, fight of the night bonuses, etc.) that a promoter also pays its fighters, but does not disclose to the athletic commissions are not included in the figures above.

vodka7 - it's ridiculous how little these guys make.

they're challenger series. Like the minor leagues. What exactly do you think they should be making for doing very small shows with little revenue?

not to mention possible under the table bonuses, and surely sponsors of some kind.

I realize some people think every MMA fighter in the world should be millionaires but reality isn't that nifty. They're paying their dues, and making more than 99% of the local shows to boot.

You can complain about the money but they are not established fighters. They'll 100% be paid unlike dodgy promoters. Plus, it looks good on a CV.
