Got my Epi ES-175 the other day delivered..What a sweet-ass guitar! Plays like butter and is pretty much an exact copy of a Gibson es-175 minus the price tag.. I might swap out the selector switch, pots, pickups etc..But maybe not.. Highly recommend these for anyone looking for an inexpensive jazz box..

Thanks..Goddamn I love this thing..haven`t been this excited about a new guitar in quite a while.

Now I need a good amp..If I don`t score a tube amp I may just buy a Polytone on Ebay.

Save up, buy a tube amp. No frills. Just tube. Then shape your sound with some good true bypass stomp boxes.

I`m think maybe just a head as I have a pretty nice closed back 1-12" cab. What tube head do you fellers like for say under $500.00.

I`ve had just about every Fender tube amp-combo made, but have never really gone the head-cab route.

Just for around the house, there are a lot of 3 to 7 watt tube amps out. I have an Epi Valve Junior, 5 watts of class A tube power. One volume knob, on/off switch and outputs for 4,8, and 16 ohm. Comes with an eminence speaker, $100.

Also, there are plenty of mods you can do to it, and there are sites dedicated to the modding of the Valve Junior. It comes in a combo or head.

Ya, some good combos with speaker outs if you want to use it that way.

If you want just the head, you can look at these (not sure if they fit your style of music though)

Cool thanks! I`m thinking a Vox night train, or a Egnater Rebel 20. I play a wide variety of stuff, but 0% rock and roll . Mostly stuff like western swing, old-fart jazz and finger-style blues.

I like a clean tone, but love the warm tube sound.

The blackstars look decent, but is 5watts enough for gigging?

No 5 watts would not be enough. Not enough headroom, and you like clean.

Can I ask... how much was the Epi? It sure looks like something I might want to have.

Thanks -- that's less than I thought. More than I have in my wallet... but yes, more reachable than the Steve Howe model ES-175, as you say!

Fantastic deal for a very sweet guitar. I may swap out a few things, but it is nice right out of the box with a little setup tweaking. I was going to try the Ibanez 175 copy, but after playing one I`m glad I went with the Epi..

It by no means feels cheap and I`m pretty picky.. Getcha one Ali. You won`t be disappointed..

Cool! Not much into bigsby`s but that`s just me. I like this one because it is pretty much an exact replica of an es-175.. More of a Jazz box than a rockabilly machine. Sure is a lot of guitar for $500.00..

I would like an orange 5120 one of these days and if I was playing more rockabilly lately I might have pulled the trigger on one,
