The stars are aligning and it looks like the AFC South is gonna be a weak division this year. The only team that got better in the offseason was Houston.

Tennessee is rebuilding and their franchise player just hit the practice field last week. Jacksonville just cut David Garrard in favor of a career backup and rookie QB, they are also rebuilding. Indy may have to deal with life without Peyton for significant time, and when he does get back it's not gonna be like MVP Peyton is gonna immediately appear. Indy isn't rebuilding, they are in the process of imploding.

I want to believe this is the year the Texans finally make the playoffs. The competition is way too screwed up to stop the Texans, who don't have a real Head Coach, but some damn fine coordinators!!!

Mark this thread down as the official "Kubiak can't screw this up unless he tries really really hard" thread. If he can find a way NOT to win this NFC West-like division. He will go down in the HOF of Head Coaching duds.

The Texans had a stellar off season, and now Manning is down. If they can't crack it this year I don't know what else they can do.

Looks like Wade Phillips will luck into a good team again. He is sorry excuse for a coach but everyone will be saying how wonderful he is when Houston wins the division.

If they do not win the division, they need to get rid of everyone.

LOL @ the Colts!!! That GM Bill Polian isn't looking like such a genius now that Peyton isn't there. Where is the talent on that team without Peyton playing and coaching for them?

I still think Kubiak is a real solid head coach. The problem with the Texans, for the most part has always been their defense. Now that it is going to be turned around I would think this year would be their best chance yet. Only to get better in the future. Regardless of what the Colts do.

To be fair to Polian, most elite teams are going to take a dive when they lose their number one quarterback. But Manning doesn't play defense, so there is no excuse for their performance on that side of the ball.
