Just killed Lautrec in the Undead Parish, dropped 5 humanity and a beast of a ring- Ring of Favor and Protection: according to a vid i saw it boosts hp, stamina, and load, by 20% or something like that.  It's definitely a must have for melee classes.

EDIT: And I just got 10k souls from Hellkite, the big red dragon on the bridge leading to the undead parish

You could be level 4 and beat it when you know the method. Just stay way in front so that it does its slam/charge combo. Then just run to the back and attack the tail. After that falls off make sure you flank to the mid or back legs and attack them.

It's a good idea to be wearing gear that keeps you fast because that way he's easily outran and if you do it right you'll never get hit. Phone Post

Senior oldboy, is there anything else in hell towards the ruins, after Ceaseless Discharge? The big gate looks to be a dead end and the lower corridor just seems to have an ember and another dead end. I just don't want to trek all the way back to the forest and Sen's haven for rapist snakemen, to find out I missed something again. Every adjacent part leading here seems to intentionally chew obscene amounts of butthole. Phone Post

There's a glitch where you can one shot Hellkite.  After you cross the bridge and climb up the ladder in the rat room, clear the dudes and the armored boar, and go back to the doorway where you came in, but go up to the top.  There will be a black knight there, get him to follow you to where the boar was and you'll see a bonfire there.  Keep the bonfire in between you and the black knight and the fire will kill him fairly quickly.  Once he's dead, go up to where he was and you can shoot Hellkite once on his head and he'll fly through the bridge and he's dead.

Tried doing this. My warpick +1 that does 100 is barely touching it. I'm a pyromancer btw. I need to up my strength a tad to use the better weapons I've got. That or get the electric pine thing so charge my weapon. The stupidest problem I have with the dragon is the fact that he swings his tail when I'm behind him and it always catches me and that drops 3/4 of my health.

Think I'm going to fuck up the Helkite dragon first and all the guys between me and him. Should give me a fair amount of souls to level up. I'm level 24 right meow

Gaping Dragon is the only boss I dropped first try. I would recommend the Drake sword and just be patient in your strategy and don't get greedy. It seems to me most of the boss and upper-demon battles are all about patience and perseverance. You have to attack, and run away before the tail strike, and then as they say, wash and repeat. The boss wasn't that difficult but deciding what to do with the 25,000 souls was tough. I have never played a game that is so ridiculously difficult and frustrating but completely rewarding in victory. Phone Post

Nothing that won't beat you worse then what's at Sen's fortress. After you kill Ceaseless you are able to proceed further in the Demon's Ruins where the lava has cooled down.

8+ Capra and 6+ Taurus Demon's await you on your journey down. Remember how hard they were early in the game as bosses? Well now they are regular enemies and respawn from the bonfires.

As painful as Sen's Fortress is, it's the next step after you kill Quelaag and ring the second bell. You could always save up 20k souls, buy the crest for the forest door and do some leveling up like in the video I posted. But yeah, nothing but a terrible ass kicking waits for you in the Demon's Ruins right now.

Go Sen's Fortress -> Anor Londo -> Forest -> Demon's Ruins. That's how I did it in my first game and while it was tough, going in a different order would have smashed me.

Hey Oldboy, after you kill Capra demon the first time, the next logical step is to use the key you get and head into the sewers right? Phone Post

Thanks oldboy. The place between the Capra and the Taurus' near the gate was where I was at. Those guys are pretty easy to beat for me now but they eat up all my ammo. I've also made my way all over the forest and killed all the bosses I could find. Suppose it's back to Sen's palace of rape for me. Phone Post

When you run by the dragon and go down the stairs to the right there should be a spot to kick a ladder down to the bonfire in undead burg. That will help a lot. Also shoot the dragons tail about 20 - 30 times with a bow to get the drake sword. You will have to do this in manual aim mode. That sword one shots a lot of guys. Phone Post

just started playing this and i have mixed feelings. the movements seem slow to respond and sort of clunky. it seems like there is a lag between hitting a button and the actual move taking place. fighting the asylum demon was sort of frustrating due to the controls(for example, trying to use an estus flask but the action being so slow to respond that i get smashed by the demon's club before i can drink it), but not very hard...only took me 2 tries to kill it.

my initial feeling is that the controls are really slow and bad, but i am hoping it will grow on me. this game would be fucking AWESOME if it had more responsive controls.

You can draw it down, by hitting it with an arrow (on the body), and run past it to the bonfire at the end. Once you pass it and it stops trying to broil you, it won't reappear. Just make sure you get the drake sword before you do this, though. I think they fixed the one arrow kill with the latest patches that came out a few days after the game was released.
