Very nice! (but only if you didn't snag those beauties). Not accusing you, but wool, 3.5 ounce (wgt?) and bottom bouncing can be code for snagging where I'm from.

I need to go fishing.

Looks like a beautiful spot

In BC here, the sockeye fishing is basically mouth snagging. Long, long leaders, big hooks dressed with a bit of wool that coil through the resting fish, pulling through the open mouth and hooking into the outside corner of the mouth.

It's called 'Flossing' here, 'Lining' in other parts of the US, and it's a contentious issue as newbies often take this method to other fisheries and abuse it.

Sockeye don't bite once they enter the fresh water and flossing seems to really be the only way to catch them with rod. Also it's still legal by the book, although there is talk of reducing leader length to combat it.

Personally I don't like it, it's just snagging to me. The whole point of fishing to me it to 'fool' the fish into willing taking your offering.

The fish are beautiful, and so are you nineteen. I was in Nome in August and caught about 35 pinks, a huge chum, and a 16 lb silver.  Most all were released but a couple bleeder pinks hit the smoker and The Silver wound up un the grill with a bit of butter and my own cajun spice mix. People were fighting for the last bits.  p.s.  I LOVE your braids.
