I am fortunate enough to have several friends that are top level guys in what they train in and train me for free and whenever I'm available.

I roll/wrestle with an Olympic caliber wrestler and purple belt in bjj and do decent (I have never submitted him).

However, I'm getting into the striking game with a buddy who is a current champ in a Muay Thai organization. I'm going tomorrow to spar with him and a few guys in the class he teaches.

Any beginner advice available out there? Phone Post

I stay in the pocket too much and I have a habit of stepping in too far with my punches (I blame my wrestling background).

I also find the need to be aggressive and mobile which makes me predictable.

The next time I go at it I'm just going to slow down and work on staying out of the pocket.

My face took a thumping. Phone Post
