The GTA CHALLENGE is this Saturday.

We are pushing hard to make this event awesome and really do a lot for the fighters. The major prize being sponsored by http://www.grapplingstore.com is:

Grappling Tournaments GTA Challenge Prize.

The Mother of all Jiu-Jitsu prizes
1 x Return Air Fare to Los Angeles
$500 Accommodation Voucher
$500 Spending Voucher
3 x Private Lessons with Xande Ribeiro
In on all Xande’s classes
Visit and training session at Kron Gracie Academy
Visit and training session at Gracie Academy

In addition GTA is putting all the profits raised from The Challenge back into the competitors.

This means if we hit 250 competitors we will be able to send AT LEAST another 2 people to the US for training camps. Flights, accommodation and training paid for! It doesn't get any better than this. So spread the word and encourage everyone you know to enter. The more people get on the mat and compete the more we can give back!

The Challenge is running this Saturday from 9am - 5pm. Entries close midnight Thursday and the schedule will be up Friday morning.

GTA competitions are run and organised BY fighters FOR fighters.

GTA Team.

Also guys, any coach will have free entry, max is 2 per academy. This will need to be ok'ed by one of the officials though. And the 'coach' will be the head coach, not one of the team mates just wanting to help his guy.

Also, you may have heard that Xande has had problems getting here for his seminars and for the GTA. He is deeply sorry for the mess around, and as a way of making it up, any of this weekends competitors will have access to a seminar for free when he is here. We haven't worked out the finer details but it's another bonus for anyone fighting this weekend. And to top it off, any winner of the male or female open divisions will get a Tatame Gi kindly donated by Craig Robinson.

See you there tomorrow. And please come and say hi if you get the chance.

Good luck guys

Cam

COMPETITOR INFORMATION:

We are providing this information to ensure smooth running on the day of competition so please read carefully.

SCHEDULE

A schedule is provided listing the divisions, the mat each division is to be fought on, and the starting time.

You are required to be at the venue ONE HOUR PRIOR to your divisions scheduled starting time. This is to ensure you have enough time to check in, weigh in, change,
warm up, and sort out any unforeseen issues you may have. Your division starting time indicates when the first match of your divisions actually begins.

SEATING

ALL COMPETITORS will be seated in the stands. You will ONLY be allowed in competition area when your division is called to check in and weigh in.

This will ensure smooth flow through the weigh in area and that we can easily manage the people in the fight area. It also means there will be enough room on the warm up mats to properly warm up.

Divisions will be called to weigh in approximately 30 - 40 minutes PRIOR to the scheduled starting time to weigh in and check. So listen to the announcements over the PA.

SPIRIT

GTA tournaments are run 100% for the competitors and the growth of our beautiful art. Sportsmanship is a big part of what we do and bringing a positive attitude to the tournament is a must.
Make Jiu Jitsu competition, whether it be winning gold or supporting your team mates, a positive experience for yourself and those around you.

We put 100% of the profits from the tournaments back in to supporting the Jiu Jitsu community by sending a select few over seas for training camps.
These individuals are selected not only by there performance but also their attitude, example they set, and passion for the art.

PRESENTATIONS

Medal presentations will take place during the course of the day. At the end of the competition the prize winners for the US training camps will be selected!

See you on the mat or in the stands for The Challenge!

The GTA Team.
