 dam should call bookground cricketsground instead haha.  Salvatore did forgotten realms, never read any but did a few dragonlance. one was good then another was complete abortion.

Not bad. His Drizzt series is pretty good. It's kind of like Dragonlance fantasy.

 the icewind dale series was the best story.
the drow series had the best fight scenes (this is what he does best - describe sword fights so well that the mental image is perfect)
all the rest imho are just attempts to recreate these.

 I loved his forgotten realms books but the last 3 have seemed like he was beating a dead horse.

I enjoyed the Drizzt books. However, they are written at a pretty low level, an 8 year-old would love them.
