MrColdCock - All you clowns saying Arlovski wasn't the #2 guy should have voiced your opinion at the time. I've TTT'd a number of threads showing the UG agreeing with the rankings at the time. People agreed he was the #2 guy and the guy people were demanding Fedor fight.

LOL dude they were too busy calling for AA to win the fight, he didn't become a chump until after he got laid out. These were the same guys who were saying (back then) that Fedor wasn't in the UFC because he was 'afraid' of Tim Sylvia and AA. After he crushed them both, then he was 'afraid' of the new HWs who weren't even pros during the Pride era.

Agendas are the same, only the names change...
Rinse, repeat.

We should measure Fedor's head as a fail safe here!

It could have prevented KO's! LMFAO

I am disappointed in how AA has turned out, maybe that's a discussion for another thread, but the fact remains that during his prime - and maybe he will hit a streak again soon - AA was a beast.

The 3rd AA vs. Sylvia fight is not well remembered and I cannot blame anyone. AA apparently fucked up his knee in the 1st but he fought on. Sylvia apparently had a concussion he did not know about either.

That did not stop AA from going on a win streak through the MMA HW division; he was beating people in the UFC, EliteXC, and Affliction. Again, only man to KO NElson and I love JDS but he managed to not do that despite having three rounds to work with.

Anyone questioning Arlosvki after all of that just isn't operating with facts.

Smith1234 - ^ Most of that is true. But the "Randy declined" is either straight up false or at a minimum materially misleading.

Randy had a contract that prevented him from doing that fight, and Fedor declined the offer to fight Randy in UFC.

Not a lie at all. Here is Randy saying it himself. Im surprised how many people forget this...

No worries. I don't think for a second Randy ducked him, but people forget that he did in fact decline a $3m fight with Fedor whilst he was a free agent.

He re-signed with the UFC because they said they would get Fedor... They didn't, so he resigned later. Phone Post

WHAT? That's news to me. I always thought and still am under the belief that Randy retired with fights on his contract still with UFC.

I thought that Randy was under the belief that there were 2 stipulations, fight for the UFC for x amount of fights, or till x amount of time period. Being that Randy retired with fights still remaining on his contract, he thought he could wait it out(for the contract to expire) and then be able to sign anywhere he wanted.

UFC took him to court to argue that Randy cannot fight elsewhere as he(Randy) had x amount of fights left on his contract that he still had to fullfil before fighting elsewhere.

I know damn well Randy was down to fight Fedor, I don't question him or Fedor, they wanted to fight.

I'm not ruling out what you said though Tomp6581, and because of that I'm interested to know if you can provide any further proof that Randy in fact was a free agent ie fulfilled his fight contract with UFC.

The video I posted was set after Randy has resigned from the UFC (after the Gonzaga fight) but the offer to fight Fedor was when he was Retired (BEFORE he came out for fight sylvia)

He states in that video that he was offered $3m to fight for Bodog. He told Dana and Lorenzo about it, and said he would consider coming out of retirement for it. And they convinced him instead to sign a new contract with the UFC and fight Sylvia . It was THIS contact he tried to resign from. Phone Post

Just to clarify...

Before the Randy v Sylvia fight. Randy had rejected a fight from Bodog to fight Fedor, opting to sign a new contract with the UFC.

After he beats Sylvia and defends the belt against Gonzaga, he resigns from that new contract to try and face Fedor.

People always forget Randy could have faced him prior to the Sylvia fight. Don't the two instances confused. Phone Post

It's confusing just reading the breakdown. I think I got you but it's all so grey and cloudy and I guess b/c it's so moot I'm not trying hard to grasp the specifics. Either way, both fighters are legends without that fight.

Yup and before the fight many were tipping him as the man to finally dethrone Fedor.
Also many had accussed Fedor of "ducking" AA to that point.

This is a message board and people can post, search or follow whatever they like so stop being so precious about it princess. It's hardly equivalent to someone following you around your daily business.

Oh, so it's not "real life" at all? It's just "a message board" and it's not to be taken seriously? That's a weird thing for you to say given that you just told me "the little pussy would not say the shit he does here in person" and "Go tell someone (preferably someone that trains UFC) you meet in real life they are a "faggot" and give them some abuse and report back with how many teeth you lost". It sure sounds like you're the one being "precious", "princess".

Oh orcus you are a real retard. And the "cockwell" riposte was inspired.
Compared to you I probably do "cock well".

Maybe since you spend your whole life on the internet you are finding it difficult to differentiate between that and reality.

Ok so insulting/talking to someone rudely on a forum and insulting/talking to someone rudely in real life are pretty much the exact same thing. One is via a written medium is the only real discernable difference. One that allows whiney little faggots like you to talk big man shit from safety without the fear of the beating you would get by doing so in real life.

Searching someones past threads and posting in the same threads as they do is hardly the same as somebody physically following you around your hometown.
Starting a thread taking you to task about your self demonstrated hypocricy is not the same as travelling to where you live, ambushing you, slamming you into a wall and asking you the same tough questions under threat of physical violence.

Get a fucking grip.

Fedor lost in his prime (in terms of both physical prime and potential in skill).

Anderson did not.

Also, Andy did not get to handpick his fights, so extra points for the spider.

Quite simple.

very simple

Fedor lost in his prime?

It's quite SIMPLE that both of them had very different primes. Fedor had the normal prime timeframe, where as Anderson and Randy Couture(and Hendo) are the only other champion exceptions.

http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/mma.cfm?go=forum.posts&thread=2026810

GSP=23yrs old for first title shot, 25 when he became champion
BJ Penn=22yrs old when he became champion
Frank Shamrock=24yrs old when he became champion
JBJ=23 when he became champion
Fedor=26 when he became champion(not counting rings)
Hughes=26 when he became champion
Wanderlei Silva=25yrs old when he became champion

Anderson Silva=31 when he became champion
Randy Couture=34 when he became champion.

I missed where I said it was.

The fact is I am insulting, on a message board, someone who has repeatedly insulted me, on a message board, and who repeatedly derails any conversation I am involved in, on a message board.

D241 demanded to know what I look like in real life, he said he wanted to beat me up in real life, you said I would get beat up in real life, you said I should try talking to people like I do on a message board in real life.

But I'm the one having trouble differentiating the internet from reality? lol. "Get a fucking grip."

lol @ all you tough guys who are constantly getting into fistfights over insults. Are you 12?

When Fedor was 33yrs old and got his first loss followed by 2 more, Anderson Silva however, was only 2 years deep of his current 6 year reign.

Kinda weird that you bring that up as much as you do. (the whole picture thing)

I recall it as me asking if you have a picture on here, and you replying you did and provided the thread.
I posted the picture, and at the most I ever said, was that I could take you in real life.

I've never reposted it, I've never insulted you on how you look, I've never made fun of you. You KNOW I've seen you picture, and you keep bringing up that I asked you for it.

Yeah, I asked, you provided, I commented, and that was that. I would think you would be more butthurt about the thread I made of you than that one time I asked about what you look like.

Poor little orcus. He's only 140lbs (or that's his excuse).
It must be so empowering for such a feeble beta to talk so much smack at his keyboard.

I'm not butthurt about it, merely pointing out that I'm not the one confusing real life with the internet. I don't care what you look like, whether you train or not, how you talk to people in real life, or anything else about you outside this forum. I'm here to discuss MMA.
