I hate to see anyone lose their job for any reason, I certainly sympathize on that end. Those playing pro sports though are living the dream. You do so knowing that you can and will be replaced at any given time by someone better. It sucks for sure but that's the cold hard reality of pro sports. If you're good enough and find the right opportunity you may get that rare chance to leave on your own terms, everyone else gets replaced by someone younger/faster/better. They can always get a regular job afterwards like the rest of us.

The guys that lose their places to the NHL'ers coming in are the bubble guys at the bottom. Chances are they likely could and may have lost that job anyway. There are only limited spots for incoming NHL'ers & if someone gets bumped and still can't find a place on another team then they just might have to face reality and either play another level down or end up back in the real world.

"These fuckers like Rick Nash, who have God knows how many millions socked away for their dynasties, are putting subsistence level players out of pro hockey jobs and taking the bread off of their tables just because they can.

--------------------------------------

The world is an open market, tough luck.

Anyone who can't see it is a festered asshole."

These statements seem pretty contradictory, no?

Watched a CHL game tonight on TSN. Not the same. But at least Kessler will be healthy for the start of the season. Phone Post

An interesting report out of Boston from a CBS reporter claiming that the lockout is ending as soon as tomorrow. I know it's got to be bullshit but his name is Steve Burton and he seems to have good sources within the Bruins org even though he isn't a hockey writer. He was the reporter who broke the Phil Kessel testicular cancer story so it wouldn't be the first time he broke a big story.

With such a jammed sched, Id say Canucks should think about holding onto LUongo into the summer.

Yeah, especially since the new cap doesn't start to bite until next season so far as I know. I'd say keep the whole roster intact for one last run.
