TULSA, Oklahoma

A Tulsa woman is behind bars for being a Grinch this Christmas.

Alicia Ryherd, 23, was arrested Thursday night for larceny after police say she followed UPS trucks -- stealing packages off porches just as they were delivered.

They say she admitted doing it for weeks. Officers found a number of packages in her car and home.

Police credit alert neighbors for taking a picture of Ryherd's vehicle and getting her tag number.

"The UPS package was delivered at 1:40 p.m., and the picture was snapped at 1:45, so she was right behind it," said Carol, a theft victim.

Carol's package was taken from her front door. Two others neighbors grabbed theirs before the woman could get them. Carol is hoping her package is among those recovered.

UPS and FedEx are trying to figure out what belongs to whom. Ryherd was booked on a complaint of larceny from a house. Phone Post

I used to work at UPS and helped deliver on Christmas. We routinely dropped off full Gateway computer systems (in the cow boxes) right on people's front porches and just left them there. I'm surprised this doesn't happen a whole lot more.
