Im looking to get myself a cheaper pick up truck, not really looking to spend more than $6,000. I was wondering if anyone here would be so kind as to help me out! Whats a reliable pick up truck? I was looking at Ford rangers, GMC Sonoma's and canyons, Nissan Frontiers... anyone own any of these?

edited for spelling.

I'm on my fourth Ford Ranger and loved every one of them.

 2006 Colorado. Nearly 200k

Repair Leaking Intake Manifold @ 10,000 miles (Warranty)

Work done = 3 New U-Joints & Drive Shaft Support @ 150,000 miles

New Shocks and Struts @ 170,000 miles

New Coil Pack @ 180,000 miles

New Passlock Ignition Cylinder @ 190,000 miles

Occasional problems with the transmission solenoids not allowing the truck to gain speed unles it's in 3rd gear, but this happens only a few times per year starting at 100,000 miles

Now, the key is stuck in the ignition (but it still starts) and the BCM needs to be replaced which shouldn't be too expensive.

Transmission and Motor still fucking strong & I hardly change the oil, just keep it topped off. AC still blasts cold. Battery changed twice. Brakes changed only once!!!!! Drive belt still tight and free of cracks! And it has a timing chain, not that bullshit timing belt!

I put this truck through HELL. I was sure I'd have major problems by 100,000miles,  but not so!

I had a 2000 Toyota Corolla that turned to shit at 80,000 miles.

I drove a Colorado for a little while for work. I dug it too. I've just got more experience with Rangers.

You could pick up a decent '94-'96ish Dodge 2500 with a Cummins diesel for about that much.  Not a big fan of the truck itself but that motor will last a lifetime and will get you 20-25mpg real world driving.  I had one not too long ago and got 17mpg towing my 7000lb F250 home on my dual axle utility trailer.
