Phil Davis "Problem is we are both known for excellent wrestling, but only one of us actually has it."

Summary of Interview:
-Rashad fight was kind of expected. He accepted the offer immediately
-Despite rumblings of a new Rashad in the Tito fight, he feels Rashad is still same old; he still sees Rashad as dangerous and skilled
-looks forward to using his wrestling and mixing it up
-feels he has a decisive edge in wrestling and will make sure Rashad doesn't get back up
-interested in testing Rashad's BJJ off his back
-wants to sharpen his wrestling so it's extra crisp. He has to pay extra attention to wrestling because wrestling against another wrestler is a lot different than wrestling against a non-wrestler

If Phil has his way, yes:
" -feels he has a decisive edge in wrestling and will make sure Rashad doesn't get back up "

Dr Hasha Phd. (psych) will put his hands on him worse than that guy at Penn State did to them kids.

Sal Penis - I can see Hashad getting wrestlefucked in this fight but rashad is too smart for it. <img src="/images/phone/droid.png" alt="Phone Post" border="0" style="vertical-align:middle;"/>

being "smart" for takedowns doesnt help his takedown defense at all. even if he knows they are coming, but he cant stop it, rash head is going for a ride.

Rashad is far superior on the feet and good enough wrestler to keep it there.

^^This

Davis had trouble taking down Lil Nog... he's going to have more trouble taking down Rashad.

Rashad will end the Phil Davis hype.

Rashad is a heavy favorite in this fight. how does it end Phil Davis hype? he's a highly regarded prospect who will learn and get better from this experience win or lose. a bit early to write someone off because they lost to the top contender

I think this will be a good fight! Hoping so anyways, rashad looked sharp against Toto and Davis will be getting kneed in the face or ribs shooting in.
Rashad is reaching his peak as a mm artist just in time to face the younger bones Phone Post

I can see Davis taking Rashad down, but him getting back up a lot wearing Davis down.  Not the same fight, I know, but if Feijao can wear these wrestlers out with activity, others can.  Rashad just has a big experience edge and I think that will  be the difference.

Chance to get exposure OR chance to get exposed?

Methinks the latter. Davis looked horibble against little Nog. He struggled to take him down, and his standup looked rudimentary. Rashad will own him on the feet forcing him to take desperation shots IMO....

Rashad's center of gravity is always low in his stance, he's quick and very powerful. Have fun trying to shoot in on that style Phil. Rashad my KO Phil...Seriously Phone Post

OnlyTheStrongSurvive -

Rashad is a heavy favorite in this fight.

Is this in fact true?  Have you actually seen a betting line on the fight?  I haven't yet - and I've been looking all over the place for one.

And I get the definite feeling that Rashad's Penn State comment is going to come back to bite him, just like New York Giants free safety Antrel Rolle's comment that the Giants would beat the Redskins 99 times out of 100 came back to bite the Giants this past Sunday.

Plus the last time Rashad faced an undefeated opponent, things didn't work out too well for him.

Besides, the LHW division has evolved to the point where Rashad is clearly too small for 205: Didn't Eric Schafer just move down to 185?

Evans has 1 loss at 205 (and is undefeated at HW, FWIW).  And his one loss is to a guy roughly the same size.  It's silly to say "he is clearly too small for 205".  WTF does Schafer have to do with anything?
