Today, January first is considered the day that Jesus was circumcised. Some Christian based institutions had this as the feast of the circumcision.

Why do we not celebrate it that way now?

It should as Decemeber 25th is still considered the day to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

The church and most of christianity uses Christmas as its date and 8 days afetrward would have been the cirumcision. I agree with you that the date of what would be his birth is not accurate.

Should christianity continue with ritual circumcision?

IF you look at Genesis 17 g-d states that his covenant with Abraham is everlasting and also that every generation of male shall be circumcised. If you believe in the scriptures, g-d using the word everlasting and every generation do not have expiration dates...

Every generation of OT Jew. The everlasting part of that chapter is in how permanent circumcision is.

No. Paul covered this pretty well.
