Fuck you poker. Fuck guys pricing themselves out of their draws and then hitting them. Fuck Full houses over sets. Fuck your straight over my set. Fuck you 250bb below EV over 1,500 hands. Fuck your limped aces. Fuck your no action on my quality hands. Fuck you!

Well, now that that is over I feel much better. One brutal 2 hour session ruins a month of work. I'm not sure if this is a good sign or not but I think I'm coming to like the abuse.

Back to the grind, got get the bb/100 back up to a respectable rate.

Anyone else wanna go off?

Blinds - 200-400
Hole cards - Ad, Jd
Reraise to 1600
Flop - 2d, Qd, 7D
Got my stack all in on the flop - 12000
Called by Js, Qh
Guy gets up to walk off, I inform him he can boat it
TD is calling the hand (it was a monthly winners champions tournament)
Turn - Qs
River - Jh

Tournament later in the day

Blinds 200-400
Hole cards - Kc, Jc
Reraise to 1800 preflop
Called by 2 people
Flop - Ac, 8c, 10c
I move all in for 8000
1 caller who rolls As, 2d
Turn - 2c
River - 2h

I told myself "that's poker, but after the first loss I was on tilt for about half an hour.

Luckily I had 2 hours to settle and focus. Still didn't help.

Those were brutal hands. I would have tilted off on those for sure. Contrary to my post, I'm getting better at keeping an even mindset at the tables. But damn man, it can be insanely frustrating at times. I'll have to dig up a couple hands if I can convince myself to review that session.

Honestly, I think we've all given horrible beats to people that we've justified because of "implied odds" or putting people on a specific hand "I put him on ace king," or convincing ourselves we can play 2-3o out of position because we can outplay someone postflop--only to crack their aces when we get the perfect flop, etc...

It's most frustrating in a tournament and when you are playing above your bankroll. In cash games that Im properly rolled for I dont let it affect me too much.

But yes...on some days I really feel poker should die in a fire. :)

Andre these days I try and play tight enough that 2-3o doesnt enter my hand range even on the button. Play very tight out of position also.
I would think that in a cash game if you were sucked out by the hands I had that you would indeed affect you to a reasonable extent. They would be two rebuys gone that you would have almost been banking on not having to spend, and obviously doubling or nearly tripling up.
I have been sucked out badly, and have had my fair share of luck, but that is mostly a run of killer hands that manage to hold up to the river, and playing low to mid pockets in the small or big blind without a preflop raise.
Anyways, good to vent sometimes. I know my poker is getting better, especially when I am making final tables more often than not (am 3 from 3 this week). Got a long long long way to go before I mix it with true quality opposition though.

You're right...I reread my post and it came off as if I didnt think you should be upset by the beats. Sorry about that.

It is definitely good to vent...I think I had probably sucked out on someone that day and was feeling like it all evens out in the wash. lol

sorry about that.

All good man, had a good run at the casino last night, quick 60 minute session and $200 up in 3 hands.

Share some of your crazy sucky hands.

I was telling a TD about my bad beats and he said it was nothing compared to his.

Pocket fours, hits quads on the flop, ships all in for $5000 and gets called by pocket kings and the guy hits runner runner for quad kings.

Kinda put my free poker bad beats to shame quicksmart.

Just had one moments ago in a bounty tournament. I still have a decent stack but this was about a 10k (in tournament chips) the bounty swing.

Guy limps from EP. I'm BB with K3. Folds to me. Flop is A2k. Chk chk. Turn is a 3, giving me two pair. I bet. He shoves 4k bounty. I call. He turns over pocket 8's. One card to go. 2 outs. Phone Post
