I learned that vacuum sealing rice was not good enough. I am in the middle of repackaging nearly 400 lbs of rice. I used the vids that kvr posted about mylar bags and O2 absorbers. I did not buy one of those bag sealers, instead I am using the hot iron trick and it works great. No need to spend $100 on a bag sealer at all.

If anyone else has learned something, the hard way, suck up your manhood and tell us about it. Best to spread the right, and how to avoid the wrong, ways to do things.

I've always wondering about any toxic fumes from melting the plastic bags when you sealed them. But I guess if it's vacuum sealed, all the air containing toxic fumes would be sucked out. But what about the hot iron trick?
