Welcome to network television, boys and girls. This is the big time now, so you have to play by different rules. Zuffa and Fox are trying to clean up the UFC's image to bring it in line with the other major sports franchises that also don't allow Condom and Gun ads on their shows.

Does it suck for some fighters? Yes, certainly. But  overall, the image shift will benefit them in the future as the UFC on FOX continues to gather viewers and fan recognition of more and more fighters grows.

It would only be fair if Zuffa covered the loss of sponsorship money when they're deciding on fighter purses if a fighter has to drop banned sponsors.

Guns are fatal weapons. Yeah, that subject does deserve some careful consideration Jen trying to grow a sport. Stop whining, America wasn't built on whining about petty issues. Phone Post

2nd amendment is no "petty whiny issue". Go watch the Kardashians.

grimsgrindgg - Matt Hughes does not agree with this.

(however gun sponsorships have absolutely no impact on the UFC's future whatsoever, who the hell cares?)

Its the principle. It's down right communist.

How about DFW and Rogan button up their shirts and put American flag pins on? This isn't about cleaning up the show, it's political.

Alcohol, motor vehicles and numerous other things can be lethal weapons but they'll advertise that shit all day long.

You people need to get a clue. Phone Post

The 2nd amendment is horseshit. Guns are nothing but simple minded pleasures. If you're that scared at night where you need a safety blanket incase of the big bad wolf why not build a safe room? I think this is a good call by FOX. Phone Post

I am a big fan of 2nd amendment and believe it's more about being able to protect my family than being scared of the big bad wolf...

Drunkie - i am not a fan of guns. but i don't think fox should be able to ban them.
They're not banning guns. They're banning gun companies from advertising thought their network. I support that. Phone Post

By your logic the founders of America were just whining about the petty issue of extra taxes on tea.

Protect your family from what? The big bad wolf? Build a safe room. Honestly The danger of having a gun in the household is greater than the danger of the "need" to have it to protect. Btw, you do pay taxes and are served by local police who are armed. Phone Post

would it be wrong to assume that neither you, nor anyone you know has ever been a victim of a violent crime?

often times it's not a big bad wolf, it's a desperate, irrational person who is motivated by something far greater than the "fear of breaking the law".

besides that, a proper safe room (self-contained environment) could cost anywhere from $10K-$100K depending on how long you plan on holding up there...

firearms make much more financial sense.

Ultimate Lurker,

I had four abdominal operations for diverticulitis, including the removal of my large intestine, right after my first pro MMA fight. sure turn it into a personal attack because you have no valid argument.

editing to remove name calling

Actually a close friend of mine was murdered last month (weapon was a gun). So no, it's not safe to assume. Phone Post

that's terrible, I'm very sorry for your loss.

violent crimes are all too common in most major metropolitan areas, I just can't afford to not offer my family all the protection our Country/State offers me.

Ultimate Lurker,

When you settle down and stop with the immature name calling I will be glad to debate you.

I strongly suspect that this is a political move, not business.

I don't believe DFW is responsible for this. Who's the puppet masters here?
