I have been following Wendler's 5/3/1 program for about 3 months and I am seeing great results.

Last time I maxed out on the deadlift was summer and I could barely pull 300 with shitty form.

pretty much stopped lifting since summer until about 3 months ago and started 5/3/1. I like it so much because I am barely sore the next day and still feel loose and flexible and motivated to go to jiu jitsu.

Maxed out on deadlift yesterday hoping to be able to pull 3 plates and ended up working up to 360 (@153bw, 5'9")! I set a goal to get to 400 by the end of 2012. I was amazed and wanted to share. So start 5/3/1, that is all.

I agree. Been using it for a year and I've had great results.

How many days are you doing it? 3 or 4? I'm about to get started but I don't think I can do 4 days. It seems like doing two days is better than three since you still get each of the 4 core lifts each week.

I have a realllllllly awesome excel spreadsheet where you just enter in your stats. I'll post it when I get back to a computer.

I don't following it exactly day for day, I just make sure I get all the lifts in during the week. I often combine benching and squatting and OHP and deadlifts, making the program only two days a week.

the only other lifts I do are dumbbell rows, everything else is bw calisthenics on rings, plyo/sprints, and kettlebell circuits for conditioning. And jiu jitsu of course. Phone Post

I've gotten nowhere with it, but my results should be discarded because this is true of me on any program.

Are you trying to "diet" and/or doing a lot of cardio? Phone Post

No, my weight has not budged in either direction for around a decade at least (except when my band used to go on tour, I'd lose weight). And I haven't been doing any cardio at all for several months now (just started back up again the other day).

This is strictly my own perpetual failure, and has nothing to do with any of the many programs I've failed to make any gains on. I just had a particularly bad workout -- on 5/3/1 -- saw this thread, and spontaneously vented.

I had my first checkup in 15 years last fall and was praying there would be something wrong. Nope. Test, thyroid, B12, you name it, everything came back normal, doctor said I was in exceptional health.

I don't want to derail this thread any more, so maybe I'll just bump my 5 year old "nothing works for me" thread to see if anyone has any new ideas.

That's what happens when you are a Fedor-Hater orcus...

You end up sucking at 5/3/1.

I was making awesome gains til I hurt my back... not lifting though. Went back to judo, my body it seems just cannot handle the high impact and violent twisting movements anymore. Very depressing. I can wrestle, do bjj, lift, anything, just no judo.
