Just moved to Florida from Indiana. I was doing some local covering up in Indiana (which is a horrible scene). I know Hector and Tony Johnson Jr, but other than that, I know nothing about the smaller shows and gyms here in Florida.

What all we got going on here? Im sure its alot. What are the top five local shows? Gyms? MMA coverage?

Just curious...thank you.

Hey, if you are in Cape Coral, you should come try Defcon 1 MMA. We have a bunch of good guys. Black Trunk is really good for jiu jitsu also.

As far as local shows go, there is not much going on in the Fort Myers area. We have shows at the Hard Rock in Immokalee, and Caged Rivalry is an amateur show. Some regional shows roll through sometimes like Art of Fighting, but they are based out of Tampa.

Like I said, give Defcon a try. We have a bunch of mat space and a small cage.

Bautista opened up Gracie Fighter Tampa which is in no way affiliated with Gracie Tampa. Gracie Tampa is sponsored through Royce Gracie who gave Rob Kahn his black belt whereas Gracie Fighter Tampa is sponsored by Caesar Gracie.

Also Gracie Tampa has three different locations and has been around for awhile now and Gracie Fighter opened in the past few months but has been running for a little while it just wasn't open to the public.

MMAkingdom,

my schools would be most likely a bit of a hike for you if you are out in clearwater. i would say your best bet would be eduardo de lima, Omega, or "legs" school http://www.supremacybjj.com. all good choices.

regards
rob kahn
