wow.  saw a sneak screening last night at the Arclight with Guro Dan in the house.

rousing applause from all there.   I liked it alot.  Well produced and presented in a very entertaining style.

it presented all views we've ever discussed on these here forums ; ), from critical to fanatical by a great combination of notables.

For me it was great and very touching towards the end.  My personal favorite now amongst all other Bruce Lee docs.

Not sure when it airs but I highly recommend it.

Acclaimed Documentary Premieres On Wednesday, March 7 (9:00 – 11:00 PM, ET/PT) With Limited Commercial Interruption

Film Features Appearances By Kobe Bryant, Manny Pacquiao, Mickey Rourke, Gina Carano, Taboo, Jon Jones and Many More

New York, NY, February 22, 2012 – Spike TV presents the world television premiere of the critically acclaimed documentary, “I Am Bruce Lee” on Wednesday, March 7 (9:00-11:00pm ET/PT).  Produced by Derik Murray (“Legends of Hockey,” “Facing Ali”), Network Entertainment, Bruce Lee Enterprises and Leeway Media Group in association with Spike TV, the film is directed by Pete McCormack (“Facing Ali,” “Uganda Rising”) and tells the amazing story of one of the most influential figures of the 20th century, Bruce Lee.  “I Am Bruce Lee” offers a compelling and visually stunning uncovering of Lee’s life, his enormous impact, and his ever-expanding legacy in the world of martial arts, entertainment, and beyond—despite his tragic and sudden death at the age of 32.

A wide array of luminaries from the worlds of sports and entertainment are featured in the documentary, offering their perspective on Lee and his impact on their lives, careers and belief systems.  Among those featured are Los Angeles Lakers superstar and five time NBA champion Kobe Bryant, the Boxing Writers Association of America’s “Fighter of the Decade” in the 2000s Manny Pacquiao, Academy Award nominated actor Mickey Rourke, Emmy Award winning actor Ed O’Neill, actress and MMA fighter Gina Carano, multiplatinum recording artist Taboo (Black Eyed Peas), UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, and UFC President Dana White, who calls Lee the “Father of Mixed Martial Arts.”  Other interviews featured in the film include celebrated writer and director Reginald Hudlin, professional skateboarder Paul Rodriguez, boxer Ray ‘Boom Boom’ Mancini, MMA fighters Cung Le and Stephan Bonnar.

In addition to the roster of celebrities, the people that knew Lee best, his daughter Shannon Lee and wife Linda Lee Cadwell, as well as a host of his friends and associates including legendary martial artists Dan Inosanto, Bob Wall and Gene LeBell, offer rare insights into his private life.  Their perspectives, in combination with rarely seen archival footage, classic photos, and cutting edge visuals and graphics, help “I Am Bruce Lee” go more deeply into the story of this legendary master than ever before.

“I Am Bruce Lee” is currently in its theatrical run.

I could not watch it, the" can Bruce fight? or would he fair well in todays MMA" bores the crap out of me. Just watching and drawing conclusions from others is detrimental to the ideas of JKD, because the search suggests an answer, and there is none.

Thats just a small part of the whole doc and most every other view and counter view is spoken & covered including some similar to what you just wrote..    It's definitely worth watching imo.

I agree for the most part. A lot of it was just the same old "man, myth, legend" type stuff that's be rehashed so many times since his death. But at the same time, it's always cool to see people like Guro Dan, Richard Bustillo, and Judo Gene get some airtime.
