I didn't get a chance to watch it live, but got a chance to watch it today three times. I only needed to watch it once though, to tell you that Nick Diaz won rounds 1,2,3, and 5.

Even if I'm being extremely generous and giving Condit round 3 which was the closest of the rounds I gave Diaz, it's still 3-2 Diaz.

I cannot believe anybody could call round 5 for Condit. When you have a guys back for damn near 1/2 the round after chasing him for the other 1/2, I can't see how anybody could see that any differently.

I don't fault Condit for his strategy. It worked pretty well and allowed him to go to a decision with Nick. It worked way better than if he would have tried to stand and trade with him. It also wasn't nearly as bad as Kaleb Starnes performance like some have said.

I really hope the UFC has the two of them rematch with the winner fighting GSP in the fall, not because that's the fight that the fans want to see, but because Diaz deserved to win that decision.

PS: If you want to fix the judging in MMA, it is very, very simple. Have only 1 judge for every fight, and have it be Cecil Peoples. However he scores the fight, just reverse the numbers, and give the win to whomever Cecil says lost.

Nick Diaz has the best boxing in MMA period. Nick Diaz would crack Anderson Silva. Make it happen Dana.

Both Maia and Sonnen tagged Anderson. What makes you think Nick wouldn't snap Andersons head back? Anderson doesn't have better boxing than Nick. That's a fact. in pure boxing Nick would slap the shit out of Anderson all day and night.
For me it comes down to, how can you possibly win when you spend the fight chasing your fleeing opponent?

Carlos did just enough to "win" but everything NOT to lose and honestly ruined his reputation with a large portion of his fans.

I love both carlos and nick, and it's hard to say this about a guy with basically a 90 percent finish rate, but after last night how can you call that guy a KILLER?

Why does everyone think Diaz should win the fight based on a strategy of moving forward and getting hit by Carlos Condit? Walking someone down seems less impressive when they hit you more than you hit them. The end of round 5 was Diaz's best moment. He should have tried that approach earlier.

KimuraKing - I scored it the same way.
I actually gave it to Condit in rd 3 barely.
Diaz - 1,2,5
Condit - 3,4

I rewatched it in utter confusion due to the decision to see what i perhaps missed and felt Diaz actually got rd 3 .

I've since watched it 7 more times.

Diaz - 1,2,3,5 Phone Post

Acting like a damn newb troll Sean, shut up and fight. I'd rather watch you fight in a cage then bitch on the UG. Phone Post

RyanTheMasterBader - Ps; Love Diaz but I'm a realist, he lost that fight. Out struck, out matched out classed. What do you want Condit to do Sean? Stand still and let Nick punch him?

Condit can do what he wants.

We should vote with our wallets and boycott his boring ass strategy.

You saying he had his back half the round in the 5th is incorrect it was the last minute. Before that Condit had landed more and Diaz looked content on going to decision. I watched it again today to and alot of the punches Diaz threw when he had him against the catch were blocked they hit arms or air. I don't think there should be a rematch at all because Diaz had his oppurtunity and he ruined it by not showing to the press conference. Which actually is a big deal, all the money behind something like that and a lot of fans were disappointed. Carlos has been screwed around enough he earned it and deserves it... Phone Post

Diaz rarely throws with full power himself; Condit definitely got a lot of hard shots off.

Diaz punched Condit in the face MANY MORE TIMES. Idiots keep bringing up the fightmetric stats as evidence that Condit won. If you actually look at them, they show (what everybody else who watched the fights saw) that Diaz had significantly more head/body shots in every round but the 4th (5th was pretty even, but the takedown sealed it for Diaz). The only thing that made Condit's strike total comparable to Diaz was "leg jabs", which are the weak leg kicks we saw, don't tell me that is comparable to a punch in the face. Diaz MOVED FORWARD, and outstruck Condit, Condit landed leg kicks that did no damage.

- The UG

Facts + rules > fighters or fans saying "I personally don't give rounds to guys who move backwards".

" 80% of his strikes are foot slaps. "

According to the guys who are paid to count the strikes, only 50 of Condit's 151 landed strikes were "leg jabs". You might be interested to know that he landed more "power shots" to the head than Nick did to him.
