Daley won round 2 and 3 IMO with the superior wrestling/takedowns . the 1st was easy for Misaki despite Daley getting the TD , Miz was all over him and staggered him at one point with a knee to the body followed by a left hook

The 2nd was close , Miz had Daley hurt with the knee but again daley got the takedown and controlled most of the round with it , almost had the back before getting reversed . very close round .

3rd was easy , Miz did zero on the feet and go taken down twice by Daley , the first got stood up for the cut .

Miz was sharper on the feet in general though , the bodyshots took a lot of the fight away from Semtex but he edged that second round IMO

not a robbery by any stretch , tough to call .

how did yall see it ?

anyone expect Daley to edge the grappling and Misaki to edge the stand up ?? I'm sure a few of you will claim to ;)

will be interesting to see if Daley can pull everything together , it's almost like he's in a transitional stage .

good performance by Misaki although he did get taken down 4 times by Paul Daley lol . Phone Post

I thought Daley won via damage and takedowns.

People are using this same argument in justifying hendersons victory over Edgar, yet Frankie did far more than misaki. Phone Post

TOAO - I like daley but he lost 2 rounds, coulda been a draw, but daley looked off the whole fight. Phone Post
I agree for the most part , Daley did look off but in some ways still managed to impress me more than if he'd have KO'd Misaki

However this was a fight that I felt Daley could really put on a show and he didn't and I have no problem with Misaki getting the nod . Phone Post

Ghenghis - Daley got his ass beat convincingly. 30-27 without ANY doubts. I think it's important to justify your choice with your nationality. Who is British on this thread??

<--- non Brit.
you scored that 3rd round for Misaki ?

No chance brah, daley lost all three. He did nothing with the takedowns, backed up the whole fight, and got bested on the feet. Give me a break. Split decison was bullshit.

English fighters are damned if they do and damned if they don't with wrestling. Daley did to Misaki what was previously done to him: lost the standup, won the wrestling, but he didn't get the win

There is little argument for Daley winning.

In fact, a split decision seemed rather ludicrous. For Daley to be outraged at the end was absurd.

This was a clear win for Misaki. 29-28

Round 2 of Misaki v Daley is a perfect example of how positioning is inferior to damage caused, attempts at damaged caused, and working for a finish.

For roughly three minutes of the five, Daley got the takedown and sat in Misaki's guard throwing, at most, a few strikes. Misaki was able to control Daley on the ground and throw strikes of his own. As far as causing or attempting to cause damage and working for a finish, Daley did virtually nothing. When they were on the feet, Misaki lit him up. When on the ground, Daley was never able to pass guard or mount any effective offense.

It was said on this thread already, Daley got out-boxed. Period.

Full guard should be (though it isn't, yet) a neutral position giving merely the edge in a period of complete stalemate to the competitor in superior position. That is to say that the person on bottom needs only to outwork his opponent slightly or more to be winning during that positioning. The same is true for any point in a fight where one fighter mounts superior positioning. In my opinion, if a fighter spends fourteen minutes of a fight diving for takedowns and scrambling for position control while mounting no real offense (damage and submissions caused and attempted, working for a finish) and manages to progressively get the edge in the positioning battle, but then for the last minute of the fight gets lit up and battered by flurries of strikes, that fighter should have lost the fight. The judging criteria need to be altered and more strictly enforced so as to curb the amount of wins that occur via hugging.

It shows Dana that Daley hasn't learned to control his temper.
