 fucking forum ate my post!

Anyway I took out three guns to see what my friend and I might use this season. Neither of us has any intention of buying a $1000 turkey gun.

First we had a vintage remington wingmaster, full choke, 2 3/4" only turkey lethal to 40 yds

Then a 92 Franchi DU auto 3" with full choke. 45 yds

Finally Remington 887 nitro mag tactical with h.s. strutt turkey choke 3/12" lethal to 50 yds. Paattens were good beyond that but they were consistently very low

I'll probaly buy a turkey choke for the Franchi and we'll leave the wingmaster at home when the season starts.

The 887 really excelled at closer ranges with super tight patterns

The 887 is one of the shotguns I'm considering. I've not heard the best things on reliability so it is good to hear it is a decent shot.

Can you hunt Turkey with a rifle?

Rifles are illegal for turkey in most states. Here in WA it is bow or #4 shot or smaller( 6 is OK 2 is not)
