UFC castoff Anthony Johnson has signed with Titan Fighting Championships.

Titan Fighting CEO Joe Kelly today told MMAjunkie.com he received Johnson's contract this morning. The fighter initially broke the news on "The MMA Hour."

Johnson is slated to fight on May 25 at Titan Fighting 22, though no opponent has been finalized, Kelly said.

Terms of his deal were not disclosed.

I wonder why he didn't follow the Pav to India. I think it's a little less stigmatized to beat your gf there too. Win win Phone Post

officedrone23 - He seems to have no interest in conducting himself like a professional with respect to weight. He is a liability.

This.

I know the guy fucked up but calling him a "UFC castoff" seems a bit harsh.
It's not like he hasn't done ok in his fights (weigh issues notwithstanding).

Wished Bellator had signed him for 205.

Instantly would have been the face of the bellator 205 division.

Not too many people are going to see him in Titan

Mix6APlix -  Weight issues not withstanding?

No.
They are with standing. You sign a contract with certsin conditions, one of them being what weight the fight will be at.

Also, lets not pretend Rumble just missed by a half a pound... It was much more. Phone Post

You clearly don't know what the word "notwithstanding" means.

Go read a book.

Hope he gets KOd 4 times in a row. Never liked him. He always thought he was better then he actually is. Along with his retarded fan base that has amde excuses for him over and over again for failing at top level comp.

Not only that but he makes more excuses then anyon else

The Asian Keyboard Warrior - I can see anthony home wrecking lhw and mw of bwllator, and then bring him back just to show how shallow bellator is compared to the ufc. Also agreement to anthony making weight or else.. <img src="/images/phone/apple.png" alt="Phone Post" border="0" style="vertical-align:middle;"/>

He avoided Bellator so he can get back to the UFC. IF Bellator signs you its for a tournament and if he does well in Bellator he will be stuck.

In Bellator anyone who wins a championship, a tournament and even the tournament runner up is bound to the champ clause, 3 fights/18 month extension.

So if he goes to Bellator they would put him in a tournament, if he loses and isnt bound to the clause the UFC wouldnt take him back cause he wouldnt be winning and if he did do well in Bellator meaning he won a tournament or made a tournament final or won a title, he would be stuck in Bellator.

Thats why these fighters who get cut from the UFC but want to make it back they dont go to Bellator.

Some may fight on a Bellator prelim for a fight they can make it back to the UFC and arent stuck but anyone who is signing long term deals with Bellator get signed for tournametns and if they do well they will be stuck in Bellator for years.

Rumbles plan is to win a few fights, make some money, make weight and then look to sign with the U FC or SF.

Rumble/Santiago makes alot of sense. Would be a nice win over a name for Rumble, show up, make weight, look good, win two or three fights and SF or UFC will sign him.

Santiago is a founding member of the Blackzillians.
He was in AJ's corner in the Vitor fight.
They won't fight each other. Phone Post
