Your young QBs will get their shit pushed in by the Bulls on Parade. There is no bounty program in Houston, just Son of Bum's scary defensive concoctions of pain. Apologies in advance for the beatings!!!

Talk about overloading. The Texans didn't have enough promising young players in their front seven already?

Oh, and I LOVE 'Bulls on Parade' Awesome nickname. I hope they play that song at the stadium for every sack.

This. That division is VERY weak. Texans and Titans should battle it out, but I think if Schaub stays healthy Texans in the division. However when you play Denver I can't see how the Texans win.

Last season Houston had a better offensive line, defensive front and pass defense than the Broncos. They also played less than eight quarters of football with Schaub, Foster and Johnson on the field.

A good passer, with an elite reciever and running back, being protected by one of the best o-lines in football. Joining them was probably the best defense in football.

I don't think it is very hard to see how the Texans can win that match. If the two teams were to play tomorrow on a neutral field, the Texans would be favourites.

I don't think Houston has a better Oline. Put Arian Foster in Denver and he is liable to go for 2k. I mean we made McGahee look like a star again. They have a very good Oline though. The Texans are not the best defense in football. They are up and coming, but I still wouldn't put them with the Steelers, or Ravens.

And of the two teams played tomorrow yes they would be favorites because we are just getting through our first mini camp with Manning. However once the season starts Denver will, and should be the favorite in most of the games they play, including when they play Houston.

Houston defense last year

2nd in yardage
4th in points
3rd in yards per play
4th in 1st downs per game
3rd in passing yards
2nd in yards per pass attempt
2nd in passer rating
1st in passer comp %
4th in rush yards
11th in rush yards per attempt

Last season, the Texans defense was the equal of any other defense in the league. They were the best untold story of last year. They are not up and coming, they have already arrived.

As for the o-line, it is probably a push. It is hard to measure the Broncos o-line last year because of the Tebow situation. But the Texans o-line played at a high level last year.

Denver won't deserve to be the favourites until they start winning games. Last year they went 8-8 beating ONE team that had a winning record during the regular season. They have seven playoff teams on the schedule this year. They have added a 36 year quarterback coming of surgery who hasn't played in over a year.

Manning may be the second coming and just destroy it for them. But he is a major question mark, and until he plays no-one knows the answer.

Denver to me are the biggest wild card this season. I can easily seeing them going 6-10. And I can easily see them going 10-6. The only thing we know for sure is they will be interesting to watch early on.

Add in the fact Wade Phillips had a lockout shortened offseason to implement his defense AND lost arguably his best defensive player early in the year. That makes it one of the more impressive turnarounds in recent memory. Phone Post

Oh there is no doubt it was one of the greatest single season turn around in history. They went from bottom five to top five in so many categories it is not funny.

I am proud to say I called it here on the forums before the season started :) I will have to go find the thread and bump it.

I have never disagreed that Houston was a good team last year. It was a great turn around. However the turnaround Denver had, going 1-4, then finishing 8-8 was also pretty amazing. The same applies for Denver last year but your division could be worse than the AFC West. The Jags were/are a joke, the Colts were a joke, and the Titans were an average team at best. Playing those teams 6 times had to help. Your division will be just as weak this year.

The Texans are no joke though. Denver's defense was far better than the stats say, evidence is our turn around and winning in spite of Tebow.

The Oline issue, I am not sure what you meant or implied that having Tebow somehow helped our Oline, I would argue the opposite. Everyone in the NFL, and probably many parts of Europe knew what Denver was going to do, run the ball, all the time. The fact everyone knew that and we were still that successful leads me to believe that what we have here on Oline is pretty special, on top of that we are VERY young.

This year you add in those same rushing capabilities with Manning and you have a recipe for a pretty special offense. Even if (outside of the read option) the playbook isn't changed Manning would immediately make us twice as dangerous because the defense would have to worry about someone completing a pass. Our offense is going to be changed, and that makes us even more dangerous. Should be fun this year. Hopefully Schaub and Foster stay healthy.

Regarding the o-line, I do't mean having Tebow helped them. I mean that when grading on o-line you have to consider all facets of play, not just rushing. It is hard to grade the o-line on sacks, hurries, hits etc when they had Tebow under centre. They were playing a very non-traditional offense with him there. They did not do a good job in that area, but I don't want to mark them down because Tebow contributed to that.

On the flip side I also think that having Tebow there helped the run game. Yes teams knew that was the first choice. But Tebow plus the read option I think opened up the running game for the other players. They won't have that this year.

I do think the Broncos o-line is good. But until we see them play this year we really don't know how good they are due to last season's rather strange circumstances.

Anyway, it is great to see you back and posting 303. I think your passion is blinding you to some holes, but your type of passion is what makes these forums great. And since the Broncos don't play in the NFC East, I wish them all the success in the world. (Although I do have a S/N bet that they won't make the playoffs)

Yes this year will be telling for the Oline, but I am confortable with the fact that whenever we need to run the ball we are more than capable, add that to the fact that we now have a legit passing threat, and you get a sense for why I am so optimistic.

I think they had a cupcake schedule last year. Their schedule this year is much tougher. I think Tebow copped a lot of unfair criticism. I don't think he is a great quarterback, but without him they would not have won 8 games, most likely 5. Unlike you, I don't trust the defense. I don't trust Manning at 36 coming off a missed season. They have more questions marks than any other team for mine. They could finish 11-5 or 6-10. I am betting more likely the latter, but won't be stunned if they prove me wrong.
