First he releases Hector Lombard earlier than he had to, to sign with the UFC, all the while speaking very highly of him and wishing him nothing but the best in the future without even a hint of bitterness.

And now the King Mo/TNA deal, which by the way is absolutely genius. King Mo has the personality and athleticism to be a superstar in pro wrestling, which will in turn translate into tons of new fans and viewers for the Bellator events he fights at. It allows Mo to make extra money when he's not fighting. And no matter what anyone says, Mo is still one of the best 205 lb fighters in the world.

It's a win/win/win situation

I love the tournament format.

They always seem to have great fights too.

I think Storm is more exciting to watch fight than Lombard anyways.

Saying nice things about his former champion is changing the game? Allowing King Mo to TNA would never happen if he wasn't suspended.

Think Mo is one of the top 15 LHW in the world, we wont be seeing him fighting anyone good anymore now that he is with Bellator though.

And actually he didnt release Lombard, he decided not to match the offer. It is true he could have delayed it an extra two weeks but he decided they werent gonna match it so let him go now, why wait two more weeks.

As for the TNA/Bellator deal I dont think it means much.

How is mo able to fight. Don't other commissions in other states follow NSAC when adhering to a ruling they made on a fighter. Phone Post

think this deal for Mo is more about TNA than Bellator, he can fight in OneFC and make money, imo this deal is about doing the pro wrestling more than fighting for Bellator.

and for Viacom I think its much more about Bellator than TNA, hoping to get some of those 1.6 mill viewers who watch TNA every week to watch Bellator when they move to Spike. Having a guy wrestle in TNA they can promote him and fans get to know him and then they say tune in to Bellator on Spike to see him fight in the mma tournament. So they are hoping they can get some of those TNA fans to watch Bellator.

What's the big picture here? McCorks 2 examples are easily nothing worthy of changing the game. You telling me fighters will stop signing UFC contracts so they can wrestle part time on the side in Bellator for less money and exposure? Who in their right mind would rather fight on MTV2/Spike for less money than PPVs and FOX for more money.

And, as a fan, I really couldn't care any less about Bjorn saying nice things (or bad things) about Lombard after his departure. I just want to see Lombard vs better competition, and the UFC has better competition for him than Bellator.

its a smart way for Bellator to market their fighter without spending anything.

And I get to watch them in HD. Take notes FUEL, only offering HD through ONE provider is pretty lame.

It's also a way for TNA to get some name recognition without paying for wrestling name recognition.

Win/win/win? Yup, I agree.

I wonder who is next.

of a really dumb way to get your fighters injured. Isn't pro wrassling hard on the body? <img src="/images/phone/apple.png" alt="Phone Post" border="0" style="vertical-align:middle;"/>

and features older, B and C level talent that will mess up moves and likely injure Mo too

I completely agree Bjorn has shown pure class. He doesn't sound like he's getting in the way of Eddie Alvarez going to UFC either. Reminds me of how tachi palace has been doing for years, they have a great working relationship with UFC. If you don't think your fighters want to challenge themselves in the best promotion then you're just being naive. I can't help but think this recent moves must resonate positive vibes inside the Bellator locker room.

And on the Bellator/TNA deal this could be brilliant. They would have to use him right in TNA, he can't like win the tournament, but then have to job to old Hogan the next night or something ridiculous. I could see them even creating their own division (like x division) with other MMA talent that will sign similar deals. Look for rampage to give this a whirl once his contract is up. Maybe the bring in lashley, Bironi, etc. Phone Post

Actually, TNA has returned to the old regional show model where they tape events locally. A lot of the veterans like this arrangement. They have less of a grind. Fewer shows to do and a smaller window in which to do them.

I absolutely HATED Bjorn Rebney when Bellator started back in 2009. This was when the organization was Spanish oriented and only on espn Deportes. So... I would see him and hear him talk and think he was just like Mark Pavelich from MFC, or Gary Miller from Pride/Affliction or or Mark Cuban from HDnet... just another asshole trying to cash in.

Bjorn seemed like another one of those guys making promises that wouldn't hold up, and he always sounded like he was trying to convince the audience that what they're watching is good. I hate that crap. The Bellator commentators are still horrible company men but I have gained a ton of respect for Bjorn Rebney over the last 3 years.
